How big of an advantage would it be if Iowa lands in one of these three venues for the NCAA Tournament? Most the players on the Iowa team will have played multiple games at these arenas prior to the tournament. Everything from the team hotel, locker room and most importantly the shooting background would all be familiar to the Iowa players. Every little thing helps if you want to make a deep run in the tournament.

Can’t hurt! And there’s no way to keep every big team away from these venues. Might as well be the high seeds that get that advantage

Why TF would they do this when Butler's court in Indy would be available. IUPUI is also available, and as I've said Muncie is a short drive.

I am guessing they want to double up the amount of games they are getting in to save time. Goes against the grain of "safety" a little bit. You have to get in 67 games if we keep the play in round.

Fewer venues to control means easier to keep the COVID protocols in place. I don't know the geography of Indianapolis but perhaps Lucas Oil is also closer to the hotels and the Convention Center, where they are practicing. Maybe those other schools couldn't also commit to dedicating their facilities to the NCAA for the entire 3-week period of the tournament.

I would love to see this team play at Hinkle Fieldhouse just like the movie Hoosiers!
Fran calmly working the refs!!!
