Nice write up on Barry Alvarez, the former Iowa assistant, who picked up Kirk Ferentz on his arrival at the airport to interview for Iowa job over 40 years ago.

Steven M. Sipple: Moos on Alvarez: ‘When he had something to say, it always had value’
Bill Moos tells a story of a breakfast encounter with Barry Alvarez that encapsulates the edge the former Badger coach and AD brought to the Big Ten.
Alvarez is retiring at age 74. Something to think about, Kirk Ferentz will be 66 on August 1st.
I can see him going another 8 years at this pace. He appears to love his job.
One day at a time is the ultimate answer. Hopefully, this summer, each player is working at it, one day at a time.
