Siri tells me that the expected temperature in Peoria will be about 53 degrees for first pitch and that high winds should be dying down. No threat of precipitation. Looks like the Hawkeyes will get a mid-week game played tonight.

Entering today, Iowa sits at #68 in the RPI standings. Warren Nolan tells me that an Iowa win is worth 43 RPI points while an Iowa loss is worth (-61) points. Based on the result alone (not factoring in other games), a loss would drop Iowa somewhere into the high 70s while a win would move them up 3-5 slots. Michigan faces 4-22 Purdue Fort Wayne tonight. Iowa would gain another 11.7 RPI points but would lose 12.6 points if Michigan loses. (Michigan loses 39 RPI points with a win; Michigan loses 132 RPI points with a loss).

Iowa currently trails Michigan (#57) by 81 RPI points.
Michigan has more "impact" games going tonight than does Iowa. That written, if Iowa can beat Bradley, there is a very good chance that Iowa will catch Michigan in the RPI standings. Michigan is going to need a lot of help in the "impact" games to offset the negative impact of facing Purdue Fort Wayne.

Bauman and Brecht should see time on the mound tonight. Let's hope that Iowa brought its bats. A comfortable win leading into a big weekend series would be very nice.

Anyone else see that grand slam by the Bradley hitter? I don’t get why he wasn’t ruled out, he clearly passed the runner that was on first base. The umpires even looked at the replay.

Brain dead base running by Nelson in T8. I don’t have a clue what he could have been thinking. Likely cost Iowa at least one more run.

Stolen base by Payton Williams … yeah … Payton Williams … leads to a run after a Bradley error.

With both Texas Tech and Michigan dropping games tonight, Iowa needs to close this out to avoid an RPI disaster night.

Pitching change. Lefty Ben Beutel is in.

Bradley w/ runners on 1st and 3rd, ONE OUT

iowa still leads 7-6

Ugh. Christopherson had the lead off hitter at 0-2 and threw one in the zone which is hit up the middle for a single. Follows that up with a wild pitch. Gift wrapped the opportunity to tie it.

Sac fly ties it at 7.

2 OUTS

Iowa gets the Bradley runner on 1st in a run down.

3 OUTS

Heading to the 10th

Iowa's 8, 9 and 1 batters coming up

Looks like Iowa dropped a few RPI spots. It appears the RPI points gained were lost with both Texas Tech and Michigan losing.
Yes,they lost roughly 25 points between the two losing. Beating Bradley gained them 44 or so. AFA winning gained them like 4 or 5. A loss with the above would've been a huge set back.

Hawks LIVE RPI is 66 right now, +5 from yesterday IIRC, opponents must've won last night.
Yep. Iowa was 71 after the Michigan series win and is 66 this morning. TT losing two to Grand Canyon sucks. It would be great if TT was an elite win by the end of the year.

Michigan had a terrible loss last night.
Michigan lost 114 RPI points last night or roughly 17 spots in the RPI. We need them to turn it around and get back in the top 50 for Q1 wins. They also garner a lot of national respect so them being good is good for Iowa and the B1G.

And that's the difference in making the NCAA Tournament........because the people that chose to support this system to help pick NCAAT teams are morons. :D
