The Bears, of all teams, showed what creativity can do, even at the NFL level. They ran a reverse with a pitch-out to the quarterback for an easy 2-point conversion that tied the game in the fourth quarter vs. Minnesota last night.

I had never seen that play before, but it sure as hell beats the pair of two-point attempts Iowa made vs. Penn State.

Iowa has finally shown some trick plays this season, and they've worked. But there's plenty of room for more imagination. And here's the evidence from the Bears:

I thought the finest play of the day was the miss direction play in which Wadley scored. Everyone on defense fell for the rigt side blocking and Wadley took off to the left corner. By the time two of the Illini LBs realized it and got turned around ....it was too late.

That was a thing of beauty, for sure. Vikings had no idea what had happened as Trubisky waltzed into the end zone. Bears have a bright future if they can bring in some high quality OL and find or draft a couple good WRs to build around Trubisky.

As long as the Vikings continue to beat the Bears, they can run all the trick plays in the world and the media can spend 3/4 of each telecast (like they did Monday) gushing about Mitch Trubisky and the Bears potential.......

:)

Yes, because college players are automatically just as good at running trick plays as pros are, Iowa should practice more of them rather that trying to get the other 60 offensive plays they use in every game down.

There was nothing wrong with the play calls on the 2 pt tries against Penn State. The execution just wasn't there.

Hockenson jumped just a hair early on the 1st one, otherwise he makes a catch in double coverage. We also had a guy wide open underneath. The second one, Stanley bailed WAY too early and threw it away when he didn't need to.

But yeah fire the whole coaching staff because we didn't convert those 2 pt tries......

Hey man I'm not a big Bears fan but I do believe the Vikings would, without any hesitation, trade Sam Bradford and his reconstructed knees for Mitch Trubisky ... and they would throw in Bridgewater too if it meant getting a deal done.

My point was that Trubisky looks like a keeper, player to build around, he just needs some protection and couple decent receivers. Again, not a huge Bears fan but it sounds like your a little worried, or jealous, or both.

What about Keenum for Trubisky? Bears fans, what do u think? Keenum has more experience playing plus has been a backup and would probably be starting if he played for the Bears anyway

I won't speak for the Bears fans but Trubisky was the 2nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft and is currently earning a little more than $29 million. I think its safe to say that Keenum would not be starting over Trubisky if he somehow ended up in Chicago.

It worked well and all, but after watching it again Barr was pretty close to blocking that pitch. The angles just don't work out as easy as a normal pitch play. If that happened to us, we would have probably a 4 page thread on it.

I bet he would but we can each have our own opinions. Keenum would've won them a couple of games so they wouldn't go to Trubisky because there season wouldn't be lose already like it is jow

Correct, if Iowa tried it, it would probably go for two points..................

........for the other team.

Great play. I'd never seen it before and Gruden said he'd never seen it before. The only problem is Stanley is not as fast as Trubisky.
