What I'm hearing in this thread is that nobody can do anything about Republican driven misinformation because when the Rs get back in charge they will abuse these new rules to spread even more misinformation.
The government has been working with big tech to monitor child porn, terrorism, and an assortment of other other crimes for years. The idea that there should be zero involvement is nonsense.
Republicans used these platforms to try kidnapping the governor of Michigan. They used them to plan the 1/6 coup attempt. I'm pretty sure freedom of speech doesn't apply here.
Jen Psaki specifically said that platforms should work together to take down harmful posts. How can you argue that keeping them up is better?
