Really impressive guy. Sharp, well spoken, clearly understands leadership and winning culture. If he can get his guys, we're going to have a lot of really good teams.
Fran was collecting a paycheck towards the end. It happens with those long contracts; you think you are more powerful than you are. Being humble is a great quality.
Well, I'm sold. Will be buying tickets for the first time in years next winter.

And speaking of humble, he seems like a humble guy that has bled Hawkeye black & gold all his life.
I found it interesting that at age 43 older head coaches call him for advice on Xs and Os.

Loved me some Val Barnes and Andre Woolridge. Those boys could ball.
I also appreciate him mentioning Fran. Most of us believed it was time for a change, but the program was flatlined prior to Fran’s hiring. He deserves a lot of credit for reviving an otherwise dead program.
Ben should demand they implode Carver and start the hell over.

I will never forget when he said "ask an intelligent question" to one of the reporters.
Oh if you had people chasing after you like that all the time you would get sick of them too, especially after a loss. Kirk kind of loses it sometimes too.

Great press conference! I like the guy a lot already. Honest, down to earth, and intelligent. You can just tell the guy is a master motivator of young minds while being someone that has the teams best interest in mind at all times. We're going to win a lot. He fits this university to a T.
