*****Bennett Stirtz & Isaia Howard will follow Ben McCollum to Iowa City. Who else will be? 10 of 15 Roster spots filled*****

Fans? I hate stupid people, and this country is awash in them right now, sports fans being no exception. How else do you explain what's happening right in front of their eyes, a process that began a decade ago, and tens of millions still claim to be oblivious. Meanwhile, a tyrant is attempting to destroy 250 years of democracy.

MAGA hates DEI because they can't stand the competition. A bunch of cultist know-nothings who ban books, erase history, deny science, and promote blind allegiance to ignorance, prejudice, racism, childish name-calling, sexual perversion, blatant criminality, and treason cannot be expected to understand anything that's real. They live in a fantasy land where they are superior. But reality is knocking, and the fantasy is going to explode in their moronic faces. IMHO, of course.
?

I'm okay with Dix being gone just to eliminate some of these jokes. Everyone gets one exit Dix joke and we can move on, no matter how hard it is.

You are right about one thing, this country has a lot of stupid people in it. I would nominate you as Village Idiot.

Tavion Banks (6'7 Guard???), in 34 games, averaged 20.1 minutes, 10.1 pts, 5.0 rebs, .70 steals, 1.0 assists, 1.4 turnovers and 52.0% FGs

He shot 9.1% from three (2-22!!!!) and 70.5% from the FT line.

i
Banks played Center most of the time in McCollums system. But he was able to guard almost any position except Point guard. Was great on the pick and roll with Sturtz. 6th man of the year in the Valley.

Wrong board.

Isaia is a Hawkeye, too!!!

Isaia Howard (6'5 FRESHMAN Guard), in 30 games, averaged 15.2 minutes, 4.5 pts, 2.5 rebs, 1.1 steals,.80 assists, .60 turnovers and 43.5% FGs

He shot 31.1% from three and 44.8% (13-29!!!) from the FT line.

i
How can a guard only shoot 45% from the line? Even Shaq of Hack a Shaq fame shot 58% for his career. We need Dix to reconsider!!

The stupid laced with delusion is strong here. Start blaming and accepting what has been found rather than denouncing who finds it.

I guess that makes Dix signing even more unlikely. My bro was saying we should get Pryce as a cheaper version of Dix, and that makes sense. Koch also would seem to fit the system as being able to guard multiple positions and shoot the 3 and handle.

Check this out.

Of the 7 in the transfer portal, I wonder who he'll reel back in. The 7, of course, are Pryce, Cooper, Josh, Brock, Owen, Ladji, Riley.

This year.

Hank Brown
Mark Gronowski
Sam Phillips
Jonah Pace
Bryce Hawthorne.

Last year

Nick Jackson
Jacob Gi
Cade Borud
Jackson Stratton
Brendan Sullivan

Two years ago

Case McNamara
Eric All
Rusty Feth
Deacon Hill
Seth Anderson
Daijon Parker
Kaleb Brown
Jees, stop with the facts. They don't want to hear that stuff. Not to mention a lot of that $$ goes to retaining stars, who are already on the roster...

Bryston Williams – Assistant Coach
Williams comes to Des Moines after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at the University of Wyoming. Last season, Williams was a part of a Cowboys staff that led Wyoming to an overall record of 15-17 and went 8-10 in Mountain West play

Williams is a familiar face to Coach McCollum both under his tutelage as a player and coach. He spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Northwest Missouri State and helped lead the Bearcats to a pair of MIAA Championships. As a player, Williams played in 112 games with 71 starts.

Xavier Kurth – Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development
Kurth follows Coach McCollum from Northwest Missouri State where he also served as an assistant.

Kurth competed for the Bearcat men's basketball team from the 2014-15 season through the 2017-18 campaign. Kurth helped the program capture its first NCAA Div. II national championship in 2017.

Great stuff.

Thank you.

I wonder where Banks will end up.

It will be interesting to see what kind of size we get on the roster. We will need it for B1G play.

Getting the four most mentioned Drake players is decent base, but McCollum needs a lot more firepower to consistently win in the B1G. Getting a couple Iowa Players (especially Dix, Koch, and/or Pryce) and the Miami transfer would add to that, but it will take a couple of high-level talents, like Fran's best recruit to make this a very competitive B1G team, especially a center. If he can get Dix to come back, this could be the best backcourt at Iowa in a long time. Big if, but I don't think Josh is a greedy young man. Getting closer to home might be a bigger issue for him.

Regarding Lickliter, I recall the majority of fans being super excited about the hire. Way more than when Fran was brought in. He was the reigning coach of the year and had the world convinced he was a great coach. Little did we know Brad Steven’s was the puppet master. Barta gets a pass for that hire (in my book).
Fans are fans and often don't know the back story. Barta coulda shoulda investigated the back story.
