The real reason was that Medicaid is the one of the largest expenditures in most states budgets and expanding it would only expand their deficit, which which unlike the Feds, they have to actually balance. To Bernie, the only real truth is the federal government should be spending a lot more money with a much larger deficit

Biden entering the race would probably help Bernie. Biden and Clinton are both going after the same voters, so he would act as a Ross Perot style third option to draw away voters from Clinton. That could help Bernie win in the earlier states.
Considering that he would raise a lot more in revenue and that it's unlikely that he would keep draining hundreds of billions into the Pentagon, I'm willing to bet that a Bernie budget would be far more balanced than any of his GOP counterparts.

Actually this appears to be the Republican strategy for more revenue. It certainly seems like everytime a candidate releases his tax plan, it cuts taxes for the rich while raising them for everyone else.
the rich are not americans? only poor people are americans? give the poor a break and the poor working class, don't tax them, only tax the rich? define rich as 50K a year, make them buy health insurance they can't afford? we see how you libs are....
