I'm looking to leave Budget because they just absolutely suck. The website sucks. The app sucks. The people who work for them suck. You have to put in all sorts of promo codes to get the best deals, and money back via partnership offers often doesn't show up, with no explanation or rhyme or reason. And getting anyone on the phone is like winning the lottery.

We had one Alamo rental in Hawaii and that experience was freaking great. Anybody else have experience with Alamo? Or any great things to say about any car rental agency?

I'm starting to see a pattern here. First you had an episode of road rage, then an issue with a hotel, and now rental car companies.

Hertz Gold member through work, personal use can be the difference between 600+ bones vs 200+ bones in Florida rental for the week.

Pretty much go to pickup and drop off garage. Easy

I just use Costco Travel

Enterprise and Hertz are a notch above the others. I've always had great CS from Enterprise. Like anywhere else...when they see you have beaucoup points and status, they take care of you. I also hired one of their management training track guys 15 years ago. Sharp kid. They do a great job of developing their people for a rental car company.

Enterprise & National are the same company. My experience is that National is the more premium brand.

Agree - Enterprise does a terrific job developing young talent (I hired a few much earlier in my career). Many move on to successful sales careers in other industries.

If you're a "Fastbreak" customer they notify you what parking spot your car is in via the app. Keys are already there. Get in and drive away (they may stop you at the gate to verify you are you).

On the other hand, Alamo, with zero loyalty status and booked through a third party, told us to go out on the lot and take any four door sedan (not SUV or Jeep or van) we wanted.

Just did a rate compare to my enterprise account

Budget/Costo $465
Enterprise $325

No thanks

Bypass the counter. Go to the Emerald or Executive aisle. Keys in the car. Check in on the app. Drive out. You’ll usually have to show your license leaving the garage.
Yup National is my go to. Employer has a corporate deal with them too so get a pretty good rate. Emerald Aisle is awesome, pick whatever vehicle and go.
