Just curious on both questions.

Other game day recs? Staying downtown chicago

I have gone after the cheapest seats and just walked over to the Hawkeye side of the field. Their stadium is a lot like a high school field with the home fans on one side and the visitors on the other. Usually the visitors take up the endzone seats as well so it would be hard not to find other Hawk fans to sit with.

I'm sure you would want to tailgate but I just park along a side street for free.

Their site doesn't appear to have any seats left between the 20's on either side???

Am I looking at this correctly?

We are staying by the navy pier and likely taking train up to Ryan field.

So we won't be having our own tailgate etc. What activities and experiences are usually going on?

Both before and after the game

Tickets are easy to scalp for nw - good seats too especially if the weather is not great or NW loses a few. I've gone to a lot of games there and have always scalped good seats for cheap $. It's a high school stadium with hs atmosphere - inflatables with wildcat screeching sound and first down call. With that said Iowa usually plays down to them or fitz' hs rah rah stuff fires his boys up for Iowa. At minimum Iowa will have a 1/3 of the crowd if not 1/2.

I went ahead and bought 4 from their website. Home side near endzone.

There were no seats for sale on their site between the 15 yard lines on either side.

Maybe they scoop them all up themselves the keep iowa from overtaking Ryan field?

Anyway, I paid 55 apiece for 4. Didn't want to chance scalping in case both teams keep winning and ends up a tough ticket to get.

Do hawkeye fans tailgate in Evaston?
