Better Call Saul and Ted Lasso shut out from emmies

I liked Succession alot.. great show. But BCS was a frickin masterpiece
Absolutely agree, even though I was kinda meh about the ending. I do think it was the right ending for the show. It just didn't stick with me like Breaking Bad did (and maybe that's not meant to be a bad thing).

Award shows don’t mean jack shit. It’s art and subjective. Time will tell us what is the best shows. Forrest Gump won a shitload of Oscar’s. But if u look at the movies it beat now. Its laughable.

The Bear is absolutely incredible. We discovered it the first week Season 1 dropped so it was fun to see the rest of world catch on after Season 2 dropped, which managed the feat of amazingly being better than Season 1.

Love Succession as well. And BCS.

It might be me but I really thought Season 3 of Ted Lasso was meh. It lost its charm for me-too serious and episodes too long and ending underwhelming. I did not like the close of story arc because I just did not like his decision.

Makes sense. It's pretty rare the Emmies and I agree on what's entertaining.

Just started watching The Bear. It's a great show. Oddly enough I keep wanting to quit because I hate the cousin so much and his character is just a pain (which means great writing and acting) but that would be a dumb reason.

The Bear won as a comedy?! It has funny moments but it definitely was not a comedy.

That’s kind of what I thought too. I didn’t watch it but my wife did and I saw 5 minutes here and there. Didn’t come across as a comedy to me.

Truly incredible BCS never won. Jennifer Coolidge over Rhea Seahorn is asinine.

Also, BCS > Succession

BCS > Every TV show ever

I really think that...I think it might be the legitimately best TV show of all time.

I was just never a big fan. The central idea is truly a great bit, and that is enough to carry it through for a while. Even by the end of the first season the bit was starting to creak under the weight for me, and I just didn't care about any of the characters enough to follow it into a drama. Other people seem to have taken to the characters more, but they didn't connect for me.

I thought season 1 of Ted Lasso was meh by the end of it. It started off as kind of a novelty and then nothing dramatic happened. Like they set up and then just killed the Major League plotline with the owner in like 2 episodes. Everyone that was supposed to be an antagonist just joins the group of really good friends actively engaged in therapy with Coach Lasso. Everything bad is kind of brushed over with like immediate personal growth. Kinda weirded me out by the end of season 1.

The Bear is really good and Succession is on our list.
I'm rethinking this post. We're on Ep 7 and I was really expecting this show to take off and soar based on reviews, but it's just not really going anywhere. It's not like I can't wait to see what happens next. If I didn't finish, I'm okay with that and that's not a sign of an AMAZING show.

Again, it's a good show and some of the dialog is noticeably well written, but I'm not really "sucked in"..

Hold tight....the cousin's character arc in season 2 is really good.

And season 2 of The Bear......man, I got to say the Christmas episode may be one of the best television episodes ever....no hyperbole. Was just uncomfortable to watch, but in a good way. I thought it was amazing.

I don't think this is a spoiler, but I really liked how Season 2 had almost like an anthology feel to it with each of the early episodes focusing on a different character basically.

***and to bring this thread and post full circle.....we know who makes a guest appearance in the Christmas episode and of course he's great:
Bob Odenkirk

I think the production companies get to submit what genre they are nominated for.

Like a while back when Get Out was nominated for a Golden Globe under comedy.

I think it was still above average but far below first two seasons.

Far too much Keeley for me.
I think there were 4-5 great episodes in season 3, the other episodes were pretty “meh”. Overall an Ok season. Disappointing compared to the previous 2, especially considering how long it took for season 3 to be released
