Could be.Not openly, but the potential field is wide open.
Biden won't run and Harris is unelectable.
I think Michelle Obama is the only person who can save the Ds from the Harris mess.

Meh…..I don’t think the Ds love Harris, that’s why she was out pretty early in the primaries.Could be.

EVERY Republican and TWO Democrats are blocking any progress. But we can go on ignoring the deficit being cut and unemployment being down. Ignore being respected again on the world stage, not to mention our president being the leader of the free world again. I’ve about given up on my country. We’re almost finished as what I thought we were.
No…the young are against this socialism for the wealthy. That’s what we have here. They’re sick of American greed.Tony nails it. Young people hate American Capitalism and are largely embracing socialism.
Oh…but you like the con artist. Pathetic. This is what we get for electing a lifelong useless person as president. The guy has never built anything or created a job in his entire life.

Those two Dems may be responsible for any chances the Dems have in maintaining majorities in either chamber. They have $1.9 T to spend.......let's get spending that first! YOU JUST CANNOT KEEP GIVING AWAY $$ without paying the piper. Manchin was never the problem.....he was perhaps the only guy in the Senate who looked at the problem objectively and not thru a political lense.EVERY Republican and TWO Democrats are blocking any progress. Oh, I agree. But she’s there now.Meh…..I don’t think the Ds love Harris, that’s why she was out pretty early in the primaries.
This is where the conversation should start, IMO.I do concede that something needs to be done to curb the out of control costs at colleges and universities.
I graduated from a private university. My senior year the tuition/room and board cost exactly half of my first salary straight out of school.
Today, the starting salary of that same job equals the cost to attend the same school.
Things are out of whack.
I just mean that I don’t think she’s some automatic heir apparent if Biden decides not to run again. If Biden does run again, then I think she’s sort of out - she’d have a really hard time being a challenger to him.Oh, I agree. But she’s there now.
The suicide wing of the liberal party thinks everybody should vote straight line liberal forever because some rednecks stormed the capital.Something something trump and January 6th.
let’s get that out of the way.
Here’s the way I see it:I just mean that I don’t think she’s some automatic heir apparent if Biden decides not to run again. If Biden does run again, then I think she’s sort of out - she’d have a really hard time being a challenger to him.
I don’t think there are many scenarios where a Biden/Harris ticket wins in 2024 and I think the Ds know that. Here’s the way I see it:
Biden runs again but replaces Harris: big trouble
Biden doesn’t run and the party/DNC doesn’t line up behind Harris: big trouble
Biden doesn’t run and the party does line up behind Harris and excludes others: big trouble.
Bottom line, I think Biden stuck with Harris for better or worse.
Disciplined? What? He's a hot head who throws hissy fits when things aren't to his liking.I think Biden is going to be in rough shape in 2024, especially compared to a younger, more polished DeSantis. DeSantis is disciplined and focused, something Trump wasn’t.
If trump runs he might. Their are more democrat party leaders that want trump to run than their are Republican Party leaders. Strange days.I don’t think there are many scenarios where a Biden/Harris ticket wins in 2024 and I think the Ds know that.
On messaging and execution. I agree personality is not his strong suit.Disciplined? What? He's a hot head who throws hissy fits when things aren't to his liking.

For many young people, capitalism hasn’t embraced them. It has chewed them up and spit them out, so of course they are looking to other options.Tony nails it. Young people hate American Capitalism and are largely embracing socialism.
Most kindergartners look disciplined when compared to Trump.Disciplined? What? He's a hot head who throws hissy fits when things aren't to his liking.
Maybe…but I think just falling back on anti-Trump sentiment to get people out is a poor strategy. If I had to bet right now, I would bet that Biden is not part of the eventual 2024 D ticket. I think he won’t run, but if he does, I think he’ll lose the primary. If trump runs he might. Their are more democrat party leaders that want trump to run than their are Republican Party leaders. Strange days.
NeedED. The voting bloc changes a lot in 4 years. Gen Z are more liberal than my generation (millennials) and will start to flex their power in 2024.I think DeSantis would beat Biden. Remember, the GOP only needs a relative handful of votes in key states.
I have no problem with delaying payments on the student debts while a discussion is had. If cancellation is going to happen the entire thing must be tied to a bill that revamps student debt completely. We cannot just get current debt to zero and then start putting new kids on the books.
But this thread is about poll numbers showing Biden's collapse among those groups.NeedED. The voting bloc changes a lot in 4 years. Gen Z are more liberal than my generation (millennials) and will start to flex their power in 2024.
They might not like Biden but they despise RepublicansBut this thread is about poll numbers showing Biden's collapse among those groups.
Ok…the Dems only win when the youthful and minorities are energized and excited about their candidates. They currently are not. And the Hispanics are probably not coming back for a while. They might not like Biden but they despise Republicans
It definitely meant something in 2020.Ok…the Dems only win when the youthful and minorities are energized and excited about their candidates. They currently are not. And the Hispanics are probably not coming back for a while.
So, they will all stay at home and Dems will lose. It’s how it works. Disliking one side more than the other means nothing on Election Day.
Usually that’s a recipe for low turnout. They might not like Biden but they despise Republicans
It might be, but I think the bigger risk is votes going to third party candidates like 2016. From my experience, the college aged generation is very politically engagedUsually that’s a recipe for low turnout.
In 2020, it was absolutely virulent on the left against Trump and all groups had stuff to hope for with Biden. If those younger demographic groups don’t feel like Biden accomplished anything, there will be less energy to just go out and vote against Trump….and you know without a doubt that Trump’s base will turn out.It definitely meant something in 2020.

So... Harris? it’ll be a landslide for the GOP.I don't think Biden is the candidate
Does that seem like a thing Trump will just do of his own volition? That really sucks. Trump needs to go away.
They didn’t dislike the Dem nominee. It definitely meant something in 2020.
We're good, but we appreciate your concern.LOL, the GOP are going to choose between Trump and DeSantis as their candidate. I'd be way more worried about that than whatever the Dems are doing. Those two are not winning candidates for 2024, no matter what @ihhawk stumbles across on Twitter
So... Harris? it’ll be a landslide for the GOP.
Bypass Harris? Depresses D turnout.
Difficult situation.
