First of all, people should realize that federal non-scotus judicial nominations are little more than a form of currency on the hill - routinely used by all senators as grease to get other deals done. McConnell very much plays at that game (see, e.g., Amul Thapar, who is actually a hell of a judge).
But with that said, this conspiracy theory is taking it to new levels that strain credibility. Unless said "deal" that won't be blocked contemplates, say, restrictions and/or prohibitions akin to about where we are now (e.g., a la MS), I would definitely call BS on this.
