The gun debate has never been about being able to own an .223 to hunt. Never. That had zero to do with the 2nd Amnedment. Framing the debate this way belies your ignorance to the original intent.

We experienced the tyranny of government less than a year ago when the government used federal agents and pepper spray against peaceful protesters to clear an intersection for a photo op.

Kind of hypocritical of Biden to take this stance. As Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he pushed us into a war in Iraq under the bogus WMD's hoax. In his 1st few weeks in office, he bombed the Iraq-Syria border. He supports the blockade of Yemen and the killer, MbS of Saudi Arabia, as they genocide the Houthis. His continuation of Trump's Caesar sanctions in Syria are preventing the reconstruction of the country he destroyed with Obomber while funding AQ. Before checking in at the old folks home for dementia, he should stop by the Hague to be tried as a war criminal.

Gun grabbers want to play it from both sides, to own a gun you need to be part of a militia, but they want to ban all guns that would be useful to a militia. The facts are, military style rifles are the dictionary definition of what the 2nd amendment protects.

We have a god given right to self preservation, the 2nd amendment and the decisions made by the SCOTUS gives us the right to use bearable arms, including, but not limited to arms that would be useful in the preservation of the military or a militia, to preserve that right.
The late Justice John Paul Stevens, a man very much against American people owning guns, understood the only way for meaningful and lasting gun reform was to repeal the 2nd amendment. He understood that there was no way to get around it. The Founders understood that the Constitution would need to evolve and they created an avenue for this to happen. The 2nd Amendment may very well be outdated and unnecessary in todays world. If that true, simply use the rules set in place at the time of the founding.

I am completely against "gun grabbing." It won't solve the problem and will only serve the purpose of depriving many rednecks of their Viagra. If Democrats want to do something productive, compromise. No new gun laws if we provide more funding for mental health.

And the fact that an apathetic and comatose citizenry allowed such a scenario to evolve is alarming enough.

Libya disarmed and look what happened to them. Nukes, unfortunately, like guns, keep bullies away at arms length. They are a useful deterrent. We haven't gone into North Korea yet.

Here’s the problem the the left fails to see:

Everyone that wants guns banned or confiscated, wants it to happen to everyone else. Just not themselves.

This is why an appeal of the second amendment will not happen in my lifetime.
