This is it, out today.

Here’s the breakdown:

Two-plays (home and home): Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State.

One-plays, home: Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin.

One-plays, road: Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, Rutgers.

Those one-plays at home.....Carver should be rocking. Wow, I was already excited for the season but I think this is about as good of a schedule as we could have hoped for.
I really hope that THIS is the year the Iowa students finally do their part to give us a home court advantage. They have been sadly lacking for about 15 years.

Seeing this schedule I like our chances of getting to the NCAA tournament. If we stay healthy.....especially J Bo, Pemsl, Cook, and Kriener..... we could be in the fight for a bye in the B1G tourney.

I hope the guys are bought in to improving on the defensive end.

It's a great schedule, just don't have many opportunities to get quality wins on the road. Got to cash in on some of those chances.

Agree.

About as good as you could ask to give the chances for wins. Really puts a premium on the few quality road games they have.

Couldn't ask for a better schedule. Most of the stronger teams only at home and weaker teams on the road. On paper, the schedule should give the Hawks a very good shot at finishing in the top few teams in the B1G. Only Minny in the H/A group should be clearly picked ahead of the Hawks, although UM, IU, and PSU should all be pretty good teams. The only downside of the schedule is that it probably minimizes power ranking potential with the tougher games mostly at home.

Many of those wins won't mean a lot then will they? Fran's had more than enough time to build a good team. Doesn't sound like many of you feel like his team is there yet when you get excited about what you view as an easy schedule. Time will tell.

The schedule is as favorable as it gets but all of the games will be competitive. The B1G is a good to great conference and to win the conference we need to be consistent. We are still a very young team.

We are very young as Tom said but our young players are experienced young players. Our sophs will be much more seasoned than your average Soph. At least I sure hope that will be the case.

Say what?

I think the idea is this is a great schedule for winning the Big. Fran HAS built a good team and they've been pretty good for a number of years.

I'm very happy the Big Ten was fair with the home and away only's. My unofficial but getting closer all the time guess? 13-5.
I think 13-5 is certainly possible. My feeling is that between 14-4 and 11-7 is the most likely.
I just hope we actually have a Saturday home game during the big ten.

Need to start off extremely fast so lack of quality road wins don't weigh us down in the end. Love it though

That was my initial reaction. The RPI is so heavily weighted on road wins vs quality opponents. Hoping the NCAA does away with that metric, but I don't know. Haven't heard a single word about it and we are almost 4 months away from starting.

Looking at the schedule now (Aug1st prediction) I would say 12-6/11-7 is where we should be at. It could be higher come season time.

Yes, road wins against good teams are good. Almost as good is a road win over a mediocre/bad team. With the road games being weighted more heavily than home games, a road win over a bad team is more valuable than a home win against a good team. I know, it doesn't really make sense. The opportunity is there for Iowa to have a decent road record, as well as recording wins over teams that are likely to be ranked highly by RPI (MSU, Purdue) at home.

Everything the NCAA is trying to do is in effort to prevent schedule manipulation.

I say just schedule the best we can and win. The rest will work itself out.
