Big 12 voted this evening to move forward

There is a rumor that the vote was 8-6 with Ohio Stafe, Penn Stafe, Michigan, Iowa, Purdue and Nebraska dissenting. That would point to a political outcome with McRobbie of Indiana breaking ranks and Michigan and and Penn State also going against the state house. Maryland is red in the statehouse but a dominant blue state overall.

Why would they look like idiots by trying to play football?
Football isn't going to raise or lower any percentage for any age group. I guess the fact that they would not be testing players weekly, conceivably could lower the numbers?
I earlier wrote that they were testing weekly. That is incorrect. The guidelines mandate testing three times a week.

If a vote this controversial was indeed 8-6, with the likes of Maryland and Rutgers tipping the scales and overruling the actual football powers in the league, then we have a bigger problem with the future of the league.
