Freakin. Iowa
East vs. West games are tied six to six...
tonights game will determine which is the stronger conference so far for 2018.

the last time these 2 teams faced one another... Jerry Kill was the head coach of the Gophers.
Minnesota won that game 42-39 (11/2/13)

I think Minnesota is a good football team... they just ain't got the wins to show it...
but tonight they are in a must-win situation.

Indiana is 1-4 in Big Ten play
Minnesota is 0-4

a loss tonight by Indiana will eliminate their chances of winning the Big Ten East Division.

Minnesota can't win the West so you can pull for them if you want. It's one of those games that as I watch it, it will become known to me who I want to win. I'm not a big PJ Fleck fan but I also don't care much about Indiana.

I don't care one bit about indy winning or losing.
But it is funny watching the boat rowers continuing to flail in their sinking tub.

Gophers still play Purdue, NW and Wisconsin, so I want them to pick up some momentum because if they could knock off any of them that could potentially help the Hawks. I don't think Fleck will get them over the hump any more than the previous regimes, but I do appreciate the enthusiasm he brings and how positive he is about his players (in contrast to Frost that throws them under the bus).

All I wanna know is....WTF is up with those Gopher unis? Somebody really thought those looked good? LOL.
Do recruits really love the all gray uniforms? I somewhat understand the black fetish, but gray? Do they call those “slate”? Illinois does it once a year, too.

Root for Indiana. If Iowa NW and Wisco all tie at 7-2 in conference the tie breaker (after head to head results) is the record of the teams they played in the East Division.

Oregon wears grey unis once in a while too. It always looks peculiar when a school wears a color like grey that is not their natural color.

I don't know who told you that... but its not true.

if Iowa-NW-Wisconsin all tied at 7-2
and Iowa's loss is to Penn State... then Northwestern is the winner... because Wisconsin plays Penn State...

"4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents."

if Iowa's loss is to Purdue... then *Northwestern is still the winner.

2. The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division.

having said that... I'm not looking for Iowa to lose another game this season.

That would be Mark Emmert, Chad Leistikow and Ross Peterson on this weeks "Hawk Central".

True. Also, since Minnesota doesn't have many winnable games remaining, if they can't pull this one off, we might be looking at two 0-9 teams in the B1G. That just plain doesn't look good.

if they did say that... then they were flat out wrong.
I didn't listen to the show, so I don't know...

perhaps they misspoke or weren't clear about it...

but in the scenario you presented...
Northwestern plays Michigan Rutgers and Michigan State in the East
Wisconsin plays Michigan Rutgers and Penn State
Iowa plays Indiana Maryland and Penn State

Northwestern and Wisconsin both lost to Michigan... so that cancels out.
Northwestern and Wisconsin most likely will both beat Rutgers... so that cancels out.
in the 7-2 scenario... with Iowa losing to Penn State...
Wisconsin would have to beat Penn State... thereby eliminating Iowa... and then it would fall back on the head to head between Northwestern and Wisconsin.

which case would mean Northwestern would have to beat Wisconsin.... and ultimately give them the Title...
if Wisconsin beats Northwestern... then they would be 2-0 against Iowa and Northwestern... thereby winning the 7-2 tiebreaker scenario...

there is no possible scenario for those 3 teams to be tied at 7-2 and it favoring Iowa.

This. Get some momentum and beat Wisconsin for once

The only common conference opponents for ALL three teams are divisional opponents. Thus tiebreaker #4 would be moot as it's the same as #3. Help me understand why you think they would start looking at only two teams when there are three tied in this scenario.

Also, the rules you linked are outdated. #5 is exactly what the other poster was describing.

Commentator just mentioned Minnesota just threw to their tight end, who hasn’t caught a pass all season. Make you appreciate what we have.

One might say this could be an ELITE loss. HA HA, take your gimmicks and go back the MAC, but before you go have your stripper wife send nudes.

You pass all 3 downs and don't complete one and only ran what, 17 seconds off the clock and will give Indiana the ball back.

ok... thank you for correcting me...
I did not realize I was looking at outdated rules...

I can't figure out what this means:

(a) When arriving at a group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group, rather than record against the individual teams.

HA HA, Indiana says hold my beer, we will run the same play 3 times in a row same formation and all. HA HA battle of two terrible coaches
