Damn, that Ohio State win appears to be pretty impressive......not what I was hoping for.
That team is going to be a load, maybe not this year (they'll be decent) but in the next 2 to 3 years with the talent they're bringing in. What was really impressive last night was that their 2 true freshman guards - Muhammad and Washington - played a total of 48 minutes with only one turnover between them on a hostile court - opening night over the 20th ranked team.

Iowas schedule is so terrible! Fire Barta!
Seems to be a common theme amongst Hawk fans. I agree

I don’t.....the poor schedule stuff is overblown. I thought I read that last year both Michigan and MSU schedules were worse than ours.

It comes down to how our team performs. With this team I think we need to play some chumps to get confidence and continuity where it needs to be. I hope it works.....

Just for clarification, I want to see the Hawks play more high profile games....but I want that when the team is ready. Hopefully that happens before Conference play starts.

I mean look at all those tough games the other teams in the conference have. We should definitely schedule tougher. We are that good.

Sure and when we lose 10 of them and don't make the Big Dance than you bitch about the coaches and the players. That's what I love about this forum:D

Iowa's schedule is fine this year. We have a lot of tests in the non-con, the first being tonight against Oregon. We'll see what we've got.

Now the Big Ten IS getting some huge wins against top teams, and by HUGE margins. Now I'm impressed. Anybody who goes to 'Nova and wins by about 30 is pretty damn good. Great job, Michigan, and the rest of the league. Here's hoping Iowa can join the fun with a big, big win over Oregon tonight.

Nebraska letting Jacobsen leave for ISU was inexcusable. He’s the exact complimentary player they need right now.

Without any physicality inside, they will be limited defensively in a power conference. They really need a offensive coach to overcome those limitations this year.

I live in Waukee but I am not exactly sure what happened there. His cousin is probably the best player in UNI history but I had heard from the beginning that he would take a crap high major offer over a great mid major offer. It might have had something to do with academics as he is a super smart kid. Really good athlete too, could have played D1 football. But leaving Nebraska for ISU is a lateral academic move at best and during the window of his career probably a wash from a basketball standpoint. Nebraska had a lot of turnover though so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

His younger sister was a really good player as well.

Alumni, how good is Texas Tech? Why was that game so lopsided?

Tech was an elite eight team a year ago and are one of the best defensive teams in the country.

With that said, Nebraska tried and failed to shoot from behind the arc. Miles still struggles with his offensive sets

I remembered that but I wasn't sure how senior heavy they were.

Not sure how reliable KenPom is this early in the season, but the B1G has been damn impressive so far. There might not be any elite teams, but there are a lot of good ones. For those who hate Illannoy, like me, :). Rutgers continues to be over its head, not just in BB...

Very hard to figure what to make of Ohio State or Maryland right now. I figured on Michigan to take a major step back but that defense so far has been downright nasty.

Watching Illinois OSU...OSU looks pretty good, but guards are suspect ball handlers. I think we match up with them pretty good. Illinois looks pretty bad. They were leading for some of the game, but are falling apart in the 2nd half. I think they finish somewhere between 10-14. Should be able to beat them at home.
