Once again Illinois is loaded with athletic kids. They may miss on a top target but they also reel them in.
If you look at 4*/5* players landed over the last 4-5 years, 5 programs — Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, and Illinois — consistently recruit and portal at a significantly higher level than the rest of the league.

Conclusion: 1) System/program matters a lot; 2) Coaching matters a lot; 3) Wisconsin and Purdue do a great job with 1 and 2; 4) Iowa has the coaching and the offensive system, and lacks only defensive improvement and a little program juice to get over the top; 5) we’re so, so, so freaking close; 6) this could very well be the year we break through.

Sissoko has really improved. And even though Walker didn't shoot it great last night I thought he played really well last night. Sparty's problem the last few years is outside shooting. Better guard play and they're going to be tough.

Illannoy's next opponent is a new name for me, Lindenwood. I'm sure they are a powerhouse.
Lindenwood is a school in St Charles, Missouri, a suburb of St Louis. Division ll, until this year they are making the transition this year, 2022-2023 to Dl. Not sure if they made the move in football to Dl, but will next season. They compete in 47 NCAA sports, so they have a robust athletics program.

A game in London?
Yes, the BIG will soon be announcing that it will be the first multi-continent league when it adds Oxford and Cambridge to the Big Ten (18 schools). Oxford and Cambridge will soon be adding football and basketball to their schools' extracurricular offerings to supplement chess, debate, and mathaletics.

Sounds like Xavier Johnson will be out at least a month, but some questions on whether or not he'll be done for the season. Pretty big blow for the preseason Big Ten favorites as their biggest issue has been guard play this season--Hood-Schifino was back this weekend, but they'll need to keep him healthy if they want a shot at the title. Can't imagine Trey Galloway running the point for them would make them title contenders.

Still a lot of excitement left in the season for the Hawks.

It's neck-and-neck with MN for the B1G cellar!

Thanks again for the update! B1G seems to be more balanced than usual. Purdon't will be at or near the top and Minny will be at the bottom. Otherwise, it seems like a crap shoot to predict. MSU currently on a big upswing, but can their annoying troll coach keep them going that way? I hope not! Injuries are having a huge impact so far. Go Hawks!

Interesting (frustrating?) look at who we've beaten and lost to...

Four losses to the bottom five teams. PSU was a little more understandable given the timing and who was available. OSU had a few match up issues we didn't handle well. Wisconsin is gritty, grindy Badger Ball. But, that Nebraska beating is looking so bad these days.
Split those four losses and the season looks so much better. Go 1-3 in those four and things look better.
