Outback Bowl.......Michigan
Holiday Bowl........Michigan St.
Music City............Northwestern
Pinstripe Bowl.....Iowa
Foster Farms......Purdue

These particular Bowls have Big Ten Connections
and are ranked from top to bottom.

Bottom Line: With a 7-5 record, the Hawkeyes got
the Bowl they deserved.

Makes sense. 8-4 would have gotten us to Nashville. Can’t blame Barta, Northwestern deserved that bid over us.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Purdue hadn't been slotted in the spot we got . After all, head to head, they beat us up on senior day. Makes me think many players were ready for the season to be over.

cannot really argue with that.. I think I was expecting everyone to be bumped up one spot somehow

Iowa gained respect by beating Ohio State by a
54-24 score. We lost some respect by losing to
Purdue. The Hawkeyes 2 point loss to Penn St
broke our hearts and made our season more of
a roller coaster ride.

Wisconsin blew it last night. Their great offensive line looked porous and there was so much pressure on the QB he couldn't be accurate. The running game was abysmal. What happened to Taylor ? The offense scored twice thanks to interceptions.
Ohio State scored on 3 long plays and otherwise were pedestrian.
It was a very boring game that cost both teams a spot in the playoffs.
However, either would have likely lost by 3 touchdowns or more in the playoffs.

Agreed, Wisconsin did stink last night. Where was the defense that basically held Iowa to about 30 yards of offense (at least it seemed that way). Missed tackles left and right, and it's not because Ohio State was somehow better, it was just terrible form.

Neither Ohio State or Wisconsin are one of the 4 best
football teams in America this season. The Badgers had
a soft conference schedule and the Buckeyes had 2 losses.
There were no superstar players in the Big Ten this year
and most team's offensive firepower proved it.

Ohio State needed to make the playoff for that.

that had nothing to do with it. If Wisc had won we would have all bumped up one. Or I suppose had OSU got in over Bama then Bama would be in Orange Bowl, Mich or MSU in Citrus and we all bump up one.

Feels like we got to beat it into people’s heads that if all your top teams are in the top 11 it doesn’t matter from a lower bowl standpoint whether one makes the playoff. It’s just getting them into NY6 games not named the Orange Bowl that matters

Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn St., Michigan , Michigan
and Northwestern all had better season records than
Iowa. The Hawkeyes were the 7th best team in the
Big 10 Conference this year. We earned the Pinstripe
Bowl.

Cant help but think Music City reps are PISSED they had to take NW. They will bring nobody to that game. Every Iowa fan I talked to were planning on making the trip to Nashville.

Probably not for 2 reasons. The biggest reason is that Northwestern had already gone to the Pinstripe Bowl and couldn't go back. This either means they take MSU's spot in the Holiday Bowl, and MSU either falls down to the Music City Bowl or Pinstripe bowl. Or Northwestern falls all the way to the Foster Farms bowl and Purdue goes to the Pinstripe and Iowa goes to Nashville.

The other reason being the two teams directly ahead of Iowa in pecking order are 9-3 and Iowa would still only be 8-4.

The only other way it would work is if Ohio state got into the CFP.

Music City Bowl will be fine, since they have Kentucky.
50-60k Kentucky fans will be in Nashville.
They took over Nashville the previous 2 Music City Bowls.

There's enough room for the 999 Northwestern fans that make it to Nashville.

Music City Bowl was $25 on stubhub before the teams were announced.

Down to $9 now...

LOL

“Lady, you want $7 for a used Kenny Loggins album? I’ll give you $5.”

Lady - “He autographed it himself!”

“Okay, I’ll give you $4.00.”

I’m not so sure I agree with Michigan, the rest yep. Michigan has a very flimsy resume and we’re fairly punchless against anyone who could punch back
