Player of the Week
G - Boo Buie, Northwestern (SO)

- Averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in Northwestern's wins over Quincy and then-No. 4/No. 4 Michigan State
- Scored a career-high 30 points while shooting 9-of-15 from the field (.600), including 5-of-6 (.833) from three-point range in the win over Michigan State. Also sank 7-of-8 free throws (.875) while adding four assists and three rebounds. Buie's five three-pointers in the contest tied his single-game career high
- Buie's performance against Michigan State helped Northwestern capture its first win over an AP Top 5 team since Jan. 27, 1979, and its first win over an AP Top 10 team since Feb. 12, 2017
- Earns the first Player of the Week award of his career

Freshman of the Week
F - Mason Gillis, Purdue (FR)

- Averaged 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in wins over then-ranked No. 20/No. 19 Ohio State and Notre Dame. Gillis was perfect on the week, shooting 7-of-7 (1.000) from the field, including two three-pointers, and was 2-of-2 (1.000) from the free throw line
- Recorded career highs in points (12) and rebounds (9) during Purdue's 88-78 win over Notre Dame in the Crossroads Classic played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Finished the contest 4-for-4 from the field (1.000), including two three-pointers and was 2-of-2 from the foul line (1.000)
- Gillis has connected on 10 straight field goal attempts spanning the last four games. The Boilermaker record for most consecutive field goals made is currently 15.
- Earns the first Freshman of the Week accolade of his career

WOMEN

Player of the Week
G - Arella Guirantes, Rutgers (SR)

- Named the espnW National Player of the Week on Monday, the second consecutive week a Big Ten student-athlete has been selected for the award (following Iowa's Caitlin Clark on Dec. 14)
- Averaged 27.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 2.3 steals per game with two double-doubles last week as the Scarlet Knights won two of three games
- Scored a season-high 33 points (her third career 30-point game) while adding 10 rebounds and six assists in a Dec. 14 four-point loss to No. 14 Maryland
- Registered 25 points each in wins over Hampton (Dec. 18) and Sacred Heart (Dec. 20), along with 10 rebounds and a career high four blocks in the Sacred Heat win, plus eight assists and a career high five three pointers in the win over Hampton
- Earns the third Big Ten Player of the Week honor of her career and first this season
- Last Rutgers Player of the Week: Arella Guirantes (Dec. 2, 2019)

Freshman of the Week
G - Diamond Johnson, Rutgers (FR)

- Averaged 16.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last week to help Rutgers win two of three outings
- Posted career-highs of 21 points, eight rebounds and three steals in Sunday's win over Sacred Heart
- Added 18 points and a career-best three steals in a Dec. 14 four-point loss to No. 14 Maryland
- Collects the first Freshman of the Week award of her career
- Last Rutgers Freshman of the Week: N/A (Johnson is the first Rutgers player to win the award)

That's what I was thinking. Although, Rutgers played three games last week, so there's a good argument for their players to get the awards.
