Clark womens player of the week. Shocking. Hell it's shocking when she's NOT the player of the week...

If they had named anyone else POW, there would be a million people in front of the BIG office in Indy with torches and pitchforks.
No doubt. Starting with some NBA guys like Kevin Durant who tweet her weekly. If it hadn't been for Clarks 4th quarter heroics, certainly Naz would have been worthy of being back to back POW. She's a fricken load on the boards....

Sooner or later it will get like Jordan where they just started to feel compelled to give MVP awards to someone else because it became so mundane.

Some pundits are suggesting the league POY is between Caitlin and Naz Hillman of Michigan. Naz is an excellent undersized low post player but it would be a huge miscarriage of basketball justice if Naz would win or even get co-player of the year. Caitlin is head and shoulders better than anyone in the league. Not even close.

That girl is going to be a headache for opponents the next 3.5 years. It will be interesting to see if Amy Williams can build a strong supporting cast around her.

some people think a player of the year should go to the best player on the best team.

i am not one of them.

unfortunately, I think the B1G POY will be a close vote.

Who are the other major contenders for National Player of the Year?

She is playing much better than I had anticipated. She was originally a South Dakota State commit and was offered really late by Nebraska and decided to stay home. NU is lucky she did.

If she wasn't a freshmen last year she would have been the B1G POTY.

Why doesn’t anyone discuss her Covid year? I wonder what the all time scoring record is? She’s got to have a chance to break it if she plays 5 years.

edit: record is 3527. She might break that in 4 years.

Who in the hell are you talking about? Surely not Caitlin Clark.....

Totally agreed, which is why the Heisman has gotten less valuable, IMO.
The best player, period. It's not necessarily the person putting up the gaudiest stats, but the best player. Not the guard from Duke, or the QB from Alabama every year, but the best.
