the Title Belt would be like the Heavy Weight Title Belt in Boxing... you keep it until you lose it.
I thought it would be fun to track this... with the starting point being the beginning of the 2014 Season since this is the beginning of the East West divisions.

in 2013 Michigan State beat Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game..
therefore we will start with them holding the Belt.

Michigan State wins 4 games with the Belt.
Michigan State holds the Belt until they lose to Ohio State on November 8,2014

Ohio State wins 10 games with the Belt
Ohio State holds the Belt until they lose to Michigan State on November 21, 2015

Michigan State wins 2 games with the Belt
Michigan State holds the Belt until they lose to Wisconsin on September 24, 2016

Wisconsin wins no games with the Belt
Wisconsin loses the Belt to Michigan on October 1, 2016

Michigan wins 4 games with the Belt
Michigan loses the Belt to Iowa on November 12, 2016

Iowa wins 2 games with the Belt
Iowa loses the Belt to Penn State on September 23. 2017

What if an out of conference opponent beats the champ. Do they take the belt and spray paint their conference initials on it?

That is actually kind of cool. Would possibly add some pressure to the title holders every time they played if they made a real belt.

OOC would be non-title matches....or on occasion you have fun with booking and put the title on the line, but have the champ retain.

Remember, Purdue has the AP National Championship belt as well.

It behooves us to root for the Boilermakers against Sparty this week.

Michigan State defeats Purdue therefore they have acquired the Big Ten Title Belt for the 3rd time since 2014.

in that same time frame Michigan State has retained the Title Belt 6 times.

this weekend Michigan State plays at Maryland.

Michigan State also acquires the AP National Title Belt.

Iowa State holds the Big12 Title Belt.

We had a poster on here some time back, that pitched the idea of the “corn belt”. And it was a WWE style belt that went to the winner of ISU/Iowa. Pics he had were kinda dorky, but i loved the concept. It was a good 5 years prior to the turnover chain or any of that crap. Wouldve been well ahead of the trend
