Blacks And Their Ridiculous "Causes"

Were they ever seriously considered for acceptance into the B1G? I know that is where they lobbied hard to be.

So some idiot smears feces in the shape of a swastika and they want the university president to step down? Do they even know who did it? What am I missing here? What did the president do or not do that has them so upset? What exactly did they want him to do before they demanded he step down?

The article says rising tension. What else has happened on campus?

I suppose the university could pull the players' scholarships if they choose not to play but then that's racist.

If you have a lounge membership, you should read the thread there. People who actually understand nuance are having an intelligent discussion about what is going on (unfortunately that eliminates any interest for a few of you, particularly the OP).

Please, help me with the nuance. What would a perfect University of Missouri look like? Most of the racist incidents aren't tied to students. Is the President supposed to close down the campus of a public university? Should he illegally use his police force to suppress the free speech of non-students? I don't even like the guy, but he is shouted down everytime he tries to engage in any kind of discourse.

Please list ridiculous causes. TIA.
Well I'll start with this ridiculous and I might add illegal crap called "Black Lives Matter"...and now we have this. Just another way to fire a white president and no doubt replace him with a back socialist...

So let me get this straight...you support this trivial s^^t yet could care less about black slaughter in STL?

Yes. I could care less about the violence in STL (or Chicago or wherever else you next mention). Because I care some.

On a serious note, a lot of us don't believe this to be trivial.

I pointed you to the discussion. I'm not going to have it. Other people are doing a great job articulating the nuances and issues that surround this debate. I have other things to do tonight.

If either of you two really want to learn about it, go read the thread. Otherwise, you're just simply choosing to remain ignorant and I normally don't engage with those types of people.

I'm sort of proud of college students who decide to get politically active. Iowa fans take pride that Fry felt this way, even at another school. Iowa St. Fans named their stadium after a guy who faced this issue. Missouri fans should feel proud of the progressive football program they are running down there.

I can't read the thread. I can read the demand letter, though. Aside from the numerous unconstitutional and otherwise illegal requests, it looks like a power grab. Someone smeared a poop swastika, so now we need obviously illegal racial quotas for professors?

Yeah....for Progressives/liberals that seems to disrespect, demeaning with anyone disagreeing with them.

Hell hoss the guy recruits the black athlete..."progressive thought" doesn't enter into it...winning and losing in the SEC does...that conference isn't like the B1G...Iowa can get away with winning with those tough but slow white kids...Mizzou can't.

Geez...what a condescending freaking dork you are...

The demand letter asks for things the university can't legally do. They can't establish quotas for black professors. They can't let only students of color control aspects of the curriculum. The students asked for the adoption of the 1969 requests that were subsquently disallowed by the Supreme Court.

If there is something you'd like to contribute regarding their requests, go for it.

Hayden Fry was like Bear Bryant in that the only interest they both had in "civil rights" was being able to recruit players to win football games...that is where it began...and ended.
My estimation of the man is a little greater than yours. But even if he was simply looking for utility, it lead him towards acting progressively. Fun how that works out isn't it?

Yep...funny how contracts and keeping your job suddenly leads to "enlightenment". I'm not in any way ridiculing Hayden...he like Bryant were great coaches at their respective schools.

Once again, I'm not here to rehash the arguments. I have other stuff to do tonight. It's quite a process to lay out all the good conversation that happened in that thread.

None of this is to say that there aren't deficiencies in the demands from the students and the groups. You seem to be thinking I'm 100% aligned with this movement. I'm not. I'm saying there's a lot more to it than a shit swastika. Read the thread, or go read some other materials on the matter. Your understanding seems to be heavily slanted toward one side, and I'm saying that you would be well served to understand the other arguments. Perhaps how even Pinkel is standing behind his players, as are their teammates, people who have given up a ton to get to where they are, so that when they're protesting about the culture on the University of Missouri's campus, risking their scholarships and precious games in their career, you may understand that there is merit behind their actions.

why can't people have differing opinions without some people being dicks

Sometimes the best way to educate people is to not call them names but simply tell them why you disagree in a respectful manner

You'd figure a guy with 8 likes on only 10 posts would be some kind of a computer genius that could educate himself a little.

So they get a scholarship in exchange for their football play. If they refuse to play, then they should refuse their scholarship. That's how it would work in the real world anyway.

Why is BLM ridiculous? Why is it illegal?
What other causes do you find ridiculous?

The Black Lives Matter movement is ridiculous because it originated and continues to thrive on many false narratives that have been soundly refuted.

It shouts down people, chastises and boos anyone who suggest that all lives matter. It walks through the streets chanting for the death of police officers.

It's ridiculous because they focus on one issue that has no relevance(police action against criminals) and ignore another issue that has relevance(the nightly black on black slaughter in the cities) which make them nothing more than reactionary frauds. The movement is illegal because they call for the murder of police...and for that they are terrorists and should be treated as enemies of this country...

Smearing inflammatory racial comments/swastika's with feces on walls......causing racial tensions but not working to resolve them? Check this guy' index finger....

The entire movement does this or a few radicals?
