Bloomington

Group of 8 going. Should be a good time, gonna stay bout an hour away on Friday night and then stay in Bloomington at a relatives house ( cousin of someone in our group). Said they had room enough for all of us!

Wife daughter and I heading down for our annual family away trip. I just have the Michigan stadiums left and I will have been to all the stadiums except Maryland and Rutgers where we may never go. Looking forward to some good football weather and lots of points.

Heading over with my wife and daughter, along with some of her teammates from the IU Southeast volleyball team. Most of them are Kentucky fans, so they will be wearing the black and gold. (Anybody but IU in their minds)

Go to Nick's English Hut on their main campus drag & play Sink the Biz. Don't ask questions, just tell them you want to play.

Any recommendations there? (bars, restaurants, etc) What kind of college town compared to Iowa City?

How many hawk fans are going to Bloomington Saturday? Go Hawks!!
My wife and I are going up Friday, staying at McCormick Creek Park Rd, Spencer, IN. It was much less expensive than Bloomington hotels. The weather should be much better than the last trip (2012) 30s rain and snow, wind from the north and Iowa lost by 3 I think. I hope that it is a good game and Iowa wins.

I can't go, but my folks are headed down, like they always do when Iowa plays in Bloomington in October. It's the best campus in the B1G, and if anyone is going for the first time I recommend spending considerable time checking it out.

It can't be hard to get tickets can it? I'm on a tight budget lately and the only way I can go (to afford gas costs etc) is if I can snag cheap tickets outside the stadium before kick off. Any thoughts/suggestions? Any hawkeye fans want to help a brother out? I have lots of good Wisconsin beers I can bring with and share lol!

Good tickets on Stubhub are $37.00, not too bad, although convenience fees add up. I have found free parking on the street a few blocks away.

I’ve been to every stadium except Rutgers, Maryland, OSU and Penn State. Northwestern was the worst atmosphere, but #2 was Indiana. Was there twice. Once during 2002, and once during (I think 2006) when their WR dropped that gimme TD pass to lose at the end.

The 18-13 game where he dropped it was 2010.

We are still looking for two tickets if anyone has extras. Plan on getting to the stadium around 10:45 or so.

Rutgers was actually a great trip. Wife and i flew into NYC Thursday evening spent Friday in New York City got up Saturday morning took the train down to Rutgers hung out for a while afterwards at a few of the bars came back and spent Saturday night in New York City Sunday in New York City Monday in New York City flew back Tuesday.

We got to see most everything we ever wanted to see in New York City. It was a lot of walking but I would do it again in a heartbeat but this time I would be more selective and walk less. LOL

Great way to spend a weekend. We were very lucky to find $99 hotels at a really nice place in Manhattan. We were near everything.
