you can’t always get what you want!
Western KS! Wow!
I believe they really do name towns after grain elevators!
Twiggy is the Himalayas by comparison. Lots of oil derricks that are not pumping because the price of oil is too cheap…and miles and miles of miles and miles.
Temp is nice….67F. Hope to get close to Amarillo today.
Keep the faith in my absence! Don’t let those MAGA phuques get under you skin. Wish me luck on the golf course
…a few birdies abd some warm sunny desert days!

A friend of my wife lives out there. Stop in and say ‘Mayland says hi’.

Regulations keep the pumps off. They can only be turned on and pump (X) amount per time period.

Amarillo used to be amazing in the 90's. I haven't been back in a piece. Wonder what it's like now.

brother lives in panhandle, a small town north of Amarillo. Flat, and makes my brother miss Iowa

I drove through a snowstorm in Colby, Kansas the day before Labor Day a few years ago.

Grab some vaginas for me while you're there.
I understand that is street-legal now in Red States...

Tyler's BBQ in amarillo
Spent the night in Tucumcari…watch Fri morn “local” TV out of Amarillo…the two channels I watched, made DSM TV personalities look like Hollywood material by comparison…
A couple of west Kansas towns were pretty nice (Pratt and Liberal) but damn…. You are isolated! Brought the Clutter farm to mind…

I took a road trip from QC -> KC -> OKC -> ABQ -> PHX not too long ago. Went to a Kansas game in KC and a Thunder game in OKC. Stopped in Amarillo for some bbq on my way to ABQ. Did a Breaking Bad tour in ABQ and went up the Sandia Tram. Made my way though the Petrified Forest National Park on my way to Phoenix for a few weeks. Was a fun trip! /csb

On the way back.. not so much fun lol. I made that same drive through the panhandle and then up through Kansas on 54. Made it all the way from Phoenix to El Dorado KS in one day. Brutal

Safe travels!

Been through a lot of those towns storm chasing. Truly a different world. First time I saw somebody carry a gun in public was a dude with a giant shutgun leaning up against the table in Long John Silvers in Great Bend. It's another world.
