Brandon Hutton (6'5, F, 2017) of Indian Hills has committed to Northwestern State. The Iowa transfer will have 3 years to play

I predict Iowa will be a 3 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament and will face N'western State.

The game will come down to a desperation shot at the 2nd half buzzer.

You can guess who makes the shot and who wins the game.

Glad for Brandon. and I would be more than glad if the Hawks were a #3 seed and had a chance to lose on a last second shot to him. Go Hawks and good luck Brandon

Good for him. The "State" part was blocked for split second on my phone. Thought he might be a purple kitty.

Probably a good level for him.

Good Luck to Brandon. I can see the overvalue part but one thing that is certain he didnt play a single minute for us so its not possible to say what he didnt do or what he would have done.

I think the redshirt was a good thing for him on all fronts including academics.

That Illinois fan who used to come over here all the time, Combes or something like that, was right about him. He didn't think he'd amount to much. However, that guy was wrong about almost every Illinois recruit within that time frame as well.

What I was getting at is that if he was as good as I thought he was he would have had the opportunity at a much better program than NW State

you are correct...if he was.
At Iowa he was neither over value or under as he never played.
Based on his minutes at Indian Hills .. NW State is probably a good fit.

I remember saying that his floor was senior year Eric May.

I'm a dumbass.

do u mean his floor game was similar to Mays?

you are not a dumbass...where is it written that any of us 'have' to be correct in our opinions of what we may see as the potential of a new incoming player. And we even on occasion are not that far off...we all can get lucky once on a while.

In Hutton's case..I also his biggest asset was a glue sort of guy on defense. When he redshirted..it pretty much ended the possibility.

They meant that, at a minimum, Hutton would be able to contribute similarly to May's contribution his senior year.

Admittedly, I was always concerned about Hutton's offense, but thought that he'd be a solid slasher by his junior year with his athleticism as well as a solid defender. As far as Fleming, I was pretty high on him, thinking he'd be a bit like J.P. Macura on Xavier, but the game seemed to simply be too fast for him. Overthought everything and played out of control.

OH I understand .. many of us project how we think an incoming recruit will do. It really doesnt matter if we are a little off or even alot off.

THIS STILL LEAVES A BURN!!

Can't blame people for being optimistic, offers from Wisconsin and west Virginia usually mean aggressive perimeter defenders which is one thing Iowa has been missing since Eric may graduated. Perhaps his offense just didn't develop as hoped, but I still think it was a good commit for Fran. Didn't pan out but was a good gamble
