Brandon Sanderson vs Audible

Brandon Sanderson (One if the biggest fantasy authors in the past 10 years) isn’t releasing his new books on Audible and is trying some other avenues. He wrote on his blog his reasoning.

I didn’t realize how bad Amazon/audible screws authors. An author only gets 40% of sales from audible, and if they don’t agree to be exclusive to audible they only get 25% of sales.

I saw this. I expect more to follow. I liked Audible for about a month years ago, but their pricing is outrageous.

My wife's (no pics) ex HS/college boyfriend is an author who she is still in contact with. I'll have her get his view on all this. Hopefully this is a start to get other platforms for audio books. Don't really like to use Amazon if I can help it

Interesting note in his blog, he says:

The other big mark this year (other than the aforementioned “I can’t talk about this yet” things that are still happening in Hollywood) for me was finishing various series.

I’m curious as to what books are being looked at for adaptation onto screen.

Edit to add:

After doing some digging, it looks like a ‘Mistborn’ movie is supposedly in the works.

Dude is a machine. On side you have Sanderson that writes 4 huge books a year and the other GRRM and Rothfuss can’t write one book in 10.
