I say limit teams to a couple of #1 recruits. Cripes sake PSU hogs most of them and then we wonder why there is no parity in wrestling.
Not a good idea

Probably not.Can anybody be more specific on these "loopholes" I keep hearing about? Thanks in advance.
Sandersons response and plea for.....raising the scholarship cap for D1 wrestling Surprise Surprise!

Maybe he only wants .1 more scholarships?"Sanderson has said that wrestling needs to look into the increase of scholarships for its athletes. He believes that is one reason why a dual championship format won’t work as well with only 9.9 scholarships to 10 starting spots."

That's it I solved it all, give very D1 wrestling team 0.1 more team scholarships. Case closed!"Sanderson has said that wrestling needs to look into the increase of scholarships for its athletes. I think there are a lot of Seniors that may pack it in after the "real" tourney and be a no show for the duals, not make weight or give little effort. Especially if they had a disappointing finish. You see this on the backside at the tourney already. Not dismissing your point but how big of a deal would it be to make weight again? The top guys compete all off season in freestyle so it doesn't seem like burnout is an issue. Additionally, having the Duals after nationals would eliminate seed ducking and holding out guys who are dinged up in hopes they heal for nationals. That's one of the biggest issues I have with the Duals. Teams aren't necessarily putting a great product on the mat for the Duals.

I didn't know Bernie Sanders was a wrestling fan, Cool.....Feel the BernI say limit teams to a couple of #1 recruits. Cripes sake PSU hogs most of them and then we wonder why there is no parity in wrestling.
One of Cael recruiting talks to a High School recruit is after college they can wrestle and coach at their club and can earn over $60,000 a year. If he's telling every recruit that same talk, whole lot of coaching happening at that club! Must be legal for him to do it because (pie in the sky) I heard it from a recruit that Cael told him.No one has made the first part of your argument more than me both on here and BWI. However, it's a competitive world we live in and the answer is to go beat him at his own game. As for donors, I still don't see any proof of the "slush fund." No names...nada. I agree that there is a crapload of talent willing to accept less money and I am curious as to why. Before, I have rationalized it by parents willing to spend the money.
If Cael is thinking outside the box, how come we didn't before? BTW, HWC is a 501c3 and we have a shit load of fans that support wrestling. Feel free to give (I know a lot of you already do).

Wow, if true, I think that would qualify as a loophole. One of Cael recruiting talks to a High School recruit is after college they can wrestle and coach at their club and can earn over $60,000 a year. Well this must also be how he gets kids to except less ship $ and payoff student loans easier. One of Cael recruiting talks to a High School recruit is after college they can wrestle and coach at their club and can earn over $60,000 a year. Not really a loop hole it is simply against the rules..Heck a rich booster could just give the money to the family which has been done and that was wrong. Can't see why just because a club would be legal cause money is being used to help pay his student loan. Also not sure can believe Mike T. but he is putting out a big claim.Wow, if true, I think that would qualify as a loophole.
