No knock warrants in the middle of the night need to go in all but the most serious cases. It just defies logic. A person has a right to own a gun and the person has a right to use deadly force to protect themselves. Cops shouldn't be able to shoot somebody for exercising their rights. We should ask the question, is the crime we believe this person committed serious enough to kill them over. In this case, the crime was your ex-boyfriend maybe dealt drugs and stored some at the house. Thats not worth killing somebody over.

1. Falsified warrant.
2. According to 12 witnesses, did not identify themselves.
3. Shot bystander.
4. Did not render aid.
5. Did not wear body cameras.
6. Lied in official reports and statements.
7. Intimidated witness.
8. Covered it up.
9. Almost blank incident report.
10. Said there was no forced entry in initial report even though they used a battering ram.

This is problematic. They should be brought up on charges for any lying, perjury, conspiracy, cover up, etc. However, I can't convict anyone who returned fire when fired upon first. Heck they even followed the Iraq-Afghanistan rules of engagement which is we can't open fire until fired upon. Tragic as this is, her death was an accident.

There were 12 witnesses?

You shouldn’t get to shoot anyone when a shot is fired.

It’s almost like the criminal justice system is completely

Hey, it’s the BLM protestors that are officially labeled terrorists, those other people are fine Americans....

Maybe both sides have bad people and those picking a side without really trying to understand what happened are the problem?

No matter the issue I know what side most of you are on before you even post. Goes both ways.

People die every day on the highways by accident and poor judgment and usually someone is held accountable.

Why not here?

Dude, no one is ever going to agree to that. If guns are going off in the general direction of cops, military, myself. We are all going to return fire.
It’s not a military situation. That’s the problem, the cops act like military. Perhaps vets shouldn’t be allowed to be cops. Because a very different mentality is required. Cops are there to take a bullet for a citizen. They aren’t there to fight battles and win the engagement.

Cops are there to protect and serve. They served a legal warrant at a know drug dealer's place of residence, were attacked after knocking and identifying themselves., and rightfully defended themselves. All else is liberal hysteria.

I think it's shitty that an innocent person died in their own home, and the only person charged was for possibly striking someone else's home with a bullet.

Wasn't his place of residence.

So in other words, the police should just let people shoot them. As you said....”take a bullet.”. And not fire back because “they aren’t there to fight battles or win the engagement.”

Maybe that isn’t what you mean, but that’s what your words imply.

That’s what I mean. They have a duty to protect people justifiably shooting at them. They caused the gun fire by breaking into the home. Knock on the door if you want to enter. Serve the community with respect and civility. That’s their job.

They did knock and identify themselves. No person has the right to shoot at a police officer.
