I notice that the north EZ construction has a black outline/trim where they were normally using the brick look. Looks pretty good,...so good that they should do that look in the inside of the stadium through the entire structure imo. Leave the outside alone with the historical look and modernize the inside.

Anyone's thoughts

I saw the plans for the North End Zone project and HATED it. It looks like a cheap addition. Past renovations have kept the historic brick look to the point where your can't tell what part is original and what part in new.

I haven't seen it in person yet but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like it.

Part of the interior of the south end zone looked like brick. Perhaps it was a sticker. I thought it was just paint. Nevertheless it was removed a few years ago and is just plain concrete now.
It was some funky wallpaper stuff.

It actually fooled me. LOL

As someone else mentioned, I think that is for the ribbon scoreboard ...

Some of it might be but I think it is black in other portions. The very bottom of the EZ row 1 is wrapped in black and probably not a video ribbon that low to the ground.

Either way, I like the black look on the inside and they should keep it running all the way through imo. More intimidating as well.

Yeah, the black does sort of stand out doesn't it! Cheers and Go Hawks!

I assume they took down the webcam because of TV rights for the live games. The black at the field level is padding - too bad a lambeau leap will get you a penalty. The black at the front of the club level is ribbon board. There is smaller ribbon board on the front of the upper deck too - maybe someday it will extend the full width. The black at the very top is just metal panels forming the guard rail. Anyone notice they replaced all the ugly metal railings on the north and south ends of the old east and west stands will actual brick walls like the stadium had originally?

Not enough real estate on the north side to build a low-sloped brick stadia. Had to go vertical with steel. It won’t look cheap once all the glass is installed on the north exterior. Definitely intended to compliment the historic brick stadium, not try to mimic it

The old North End wasn’t brick and mortar anyways

Look what it’s replacing! Look how friggin’ huge it is. Think of all the advantages it will offer. Wipe your eyes and sack up to improvement!

And we’re lucky for that. Low slope means boring. It means less intimacy and no sound. The Big House is the best example ever of why you need to built up and not out. I’ve sneezed louder than that place, They might as well play bingo in there because there’s zero atmosphere.
