Lets move on from the bad news and move towards hopefully good news.

What's the news on Brody Teske of FD? Favorites? Lead? When does he want to commit? He's gotta be the very close next man in after Teasdale...

Moving forward we need to get Teske to man 133. Maybe the Teasdale decommit opens up wiggle room to get Brands + #30 Teske + #6 Sasso + #16 Hidlay + #38 Jordan for class of 2018.

According to the consensus on the board, only too 10 P4P really matter. We shouldn't waste too much time on Teske

Brody has always been very high on the Hawks. The Teasdale decommit opens the door again. With Dresser coming up to ISU, this complicates his recruitment.

good get what you've earned brody, just remember there are not very many years when an iowa wrestler is not in the championship match at 133 and/or 126.

Clownville has no shot to ever win a NT again if Iowa, fosu and osu can't even compete with PSU, plus they have a long road to even be respectable. Teske obviously has some talent but 4 timer in Iowa means jack compared to what it used to, you can't get all wide eyed on that. He has had some success vs out of state which is good and he seems to be a go getter which is good. I think you need to look at his skill set, footwork, athletic ability, matches vs the national field. Ohio state recruit Decatur hammered him in the fargo final last year. Is it a different match in folk? IDK but things to consider.

Yes...because that's exactly how it was framed.
My post was sarcastic though with some truth behind it.

I can see the threads 3 years from now when we're starting Teske, Happel, and Costello against Teasdale, Lee, and Nevills. Recruiting, right?

Are we forgetting Alex Thomsen? Or have I missed something?

Gulibon hammered Clark too and was an "all world" recruit. How did that work out? :)

I believe Teske to be a lock for Iowa now. He wasn't before. I really like the kid and will be easy to root for and he has improved drastically in the national scene this past season, but lets all be real honest here. This is why we are perpetually sitting at 4th in team standing and PSU is #1.

Teasdale will be a Champ if not runner up to Fix at 133 in a few years. Teasdale will also Tech his way into the semis at nationals. Meanwhile Teske will be very good but likely a 4th place ceiling with maybe two majors.

Repeat this for 10 weights and this is the 30 point gap at nationals.

Sad thing is I believe Brands actually gets this now, but aint anything he can do. Its not like Morningstar isn't trying to land the top P4P kids. The reality is Iowa high school kids is not enough. PA high school kids are just insanely talented right now. They get 5 Cory Clark talents to our 1.

We can have an elite match their elite but when we look at the instate recruits next in line from say 3-15th. They have Kemerer, Mitchell Port types all over the place and we have guys heading to Wartburg and Grand View.

I haven't seen Teske much at all, what type of recruit is he ? Who would you compare him to from past Iowans? Also I've seen Alex Thomson numerous times and I would be shocked if ever makes it big at the college level. Thanks for any info.

Dresser offering 80% from what it sounds like. He has always wanted to wrestle for Iowa so hopefully he wants to be on the team he has always liked and that also has the best lightweight staff and partners. I do love his motor and gas tank and he is quick, not a grinder. Bottom line is Iowa has what he needs to reach his potential and rolling around with Spencer, Gilman, Clark etc is going to make you way better.

ISU wont get Teske. IMO it will be Thomsen now in play with Dresser. I can already see a black singlet with 5 min of riding time in that head to head.

Basically. He now sees a starting spot at the table and financials can be fluffed and sharpened. That wasn't in play a few days ago.

But have they been? It all seems like a big assumption unless you have inside info. Maybe there's someone other than Teske they go after now? Like Bravo-Young or others?

Quick, get Teske's commitment and send him this to post in his locker!

I highly doubt they "fluff any financials" until seeing some results this summer.

I stopped reading after you gave a high school junior a 4th place ceiling. You must be a top notch talent evaluator. What ceiling did you give Gabe Dean or Kyle Dake out of High School? Better yet, what ceiling did you give Guilibon?

Sure wish I was seeing more positive things being said about this kid

If Teske is the next man in, I for one will be absolutely pumped about it

The kid is tough as nails, non-stop, relentless and he's making huge strides, continuing to improve his skills

I think he's got a very high ceiling and I would sure hate to miss out on someone this good from in-state. I've felt that way all along

Come on board, and go get em Mr. Teske!

He's too busy making up things in order to sound smart to answer.

Agree... And if TnTs track record means anything(McD, Dennis, Slaton, Marion, Ramos, Gilman, Clark, etc) the young man will be hell on wheels.

Well said, he seems to be filling out and added strength was maybe the only thing holding him back. It was the main issue vs Decatur who was just too powerful.

Key words there...Fargo final. That means 100x more than 4xer in Iowa.
