So, will the hype from one sport be worked to build up the upcoming blackout in the primary šŸˆ oneā“

Or, will the Hawkeyes just add one B1G gold stripe on Friday night to combat it all, as Iowa hits the B1G road in Octoberā€¼ļø

Both starting QBs for Maryland, Iowa threw their first interception of the season, this past Saturday. Here's a look at Kent Stateā€™s, who leads country in picks, but was NIL against Spencer Petras.

We all recall what Colorado State's corner was able to dig out of Iowa's passing offense.

One Brian Ferentz call everyone would like to have not then. Hindsight is always 20/20. HAWKS still won!

Explosive plays: offense, defense and special teams will be vitally important on Friday night.

Phil Parker always talks about the importance of this aspect, since the 55-24 win, in 2017, when it was on full display for his team.

Iowa's first half, and offensive line for the most part, wasn't the type of performance one likes to see in the final tune up before the conference bullets arrive again.

Raise your hand if you predicted Iowa as one of the Big Tenā€™s highest-ranked team after one month. No one? Alright, maybe a few of you in Iowa City, but thatā€™s it. The Hawkeyes donā€™t play a pretty brand of football, which was on full display during their 24-14 comeback win over Colorado State. They grade out as a bottom-15 offense in yards per game, but that hasnā€™t stopped Iowa from averaging 28.8 points per game or being a defensive juggernaut each week. Iowaā€™s allowing 11 points per game, just 2.3 yards per carry and has nine takeaways. The Hawkeyes are favored at Maryland in Week 5. The Terps just missed out on the top 25, but Iowa has already beat a pair of ranked teams.

Could the Hawkeyesā€™ underwhelming performance against Colorado State been a product of looking ahead? Itā€™s possible, given the start Maryland is off to. The Terrapins are 4-0 for the first time since 2016, most recently defeating Kent State 37-16. Maryland has quietly been one of the better offensive teams in college football, averaging 519.3 yards per game. Taulia Tagovailoa has been a driving force of that success, completing 75.5 percent of his passes for 10 touchdown and just one interception. With a top-20 scoring defense to match, the Terps might have the combination needed to pull an upset.
