I'm using a lot of info from CBS/Jerry Palm because his mobile bracketology site is more user friendly than ESPN/Joe Lunardi. In general, Lunardi is higher on the Hawks than Palm. Lunardi said at halftime of the Wisconsin game that Iowa could get in with 2 more wins. Palm thinks Iowa needs to win 1 in the BTT, probably 2, to have a chance.
Palm’s Last 4 in are Rhode Island, Marquette, Wake Forest, and Illinois. His First 4 out at Kansas State, Syracuse, Georgia, and Wichita State.
Here is Iowa’s Resume:

There are 32 auto bids up for grabs over the next week and a half. As Iowa Fans, we need to hope there are no bid stealers come tourney time.
The A10 is probably a multi bid league but root for Dayton or VCU to win the A10 tourney and for Rhode Island to lose early. A bad loss in the A10 tourney could knock RI out.
Root for Ga Tech to knock off Syracuse this weekend and an early exit in the ACC tourney. Their RPI is worse than Iowa’s! Then Root for WF to lose at Virginia Tech this weekend and exit the ACC tourney early as well.
TCU losing to K State likely sealed their fate. A K State loss to Texas Tech this weekend would likely make the Big12 a 5 bid league.
The Big East is interesting with 4 bubble teams. Will they get 7 bids? Xavier is reeling but still have a strong RPI and SOS. Providence and Marquette each have 6 Top 50 RPI wins. Both face tough regular season finales and could face off in the 1st round of the Big East tourney. I’d say root against these teams and hope they end up with similar resumes to Iowa when it’s all said and done.
The B1G is fairly simple. Iowa needs to beat PSU and win as many as possible in the BTT. An Illinois loss to Rutgers would be very beneficial to Iowa. Could MSU or Michigan implode their way out of the tourney? Neither are a lock right now IMO.
The MVC might be a 2 bid league this year but Illinois St and Wichita State’s SOS are atrocious. Root for Illinois St to win the tourney. An early exit for Wichita State could knock them out of the NCAA’s.
The PAC12 is very top heavy this year. Cal just got embarrassed by Utah. If Cal doesn’t get to 20 wins they are in trouble. Palm doesn’t mention Utah at all but they seem to be on the fringe as well with an RPI in the 70s.
Hope for the SEC to be a 4 bid league. Arkansas RPI is just too strong to have them on the bubble with 22 wins in a P5 conference. Root against Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, or Auburn making a run in the tourney. With a deep run any of these teams could have similar resumes to Iowa.
Root for Illinois St, Mid Tenn St, UT Arlington, and Nevada to win their conference championships to get them off the bubble consideration and open up more at large bids for Iowa.
