I don’t recall which WR it was, but years ago I remember Michigan having a very talented WR. The game was in Kinnick, and the Hawks bumped/hit him at the line of scrimmage on every play, and by the end of the game he had ”quit.” I’m sure this was when Norm Parker was our d-coordinator.
I don’t understand giving receivers like Bell a free release from the LOS. It would seem a bump of any sort might disrupt the timing of a play. Is this harder to do than it seems? Do we not have the personnel for this? What’s allowed In terms of slowing down a WR?
