Bush campaign spending cuts signal panic has set in!!!

McCain did the same thing in 2007 and still won the nomination in 2008. With that said, not a good sign for Bush.

I don't remember...any idea where McCain stood in the polls at the time? I know the field was pretty big prior to Iowa.

I don't remember exactly where he stood in the polls at that time, but I do remember a great many pundits pretty much writing him off and conducting autopsies of his candidacy at that point.

Found it. Looks like Giuliani was the front-runner with McCain around 4th place at 10%.
