Only 25 games into his tenure and there is already dysfunction in the Chicago lockeroom. This is not Ames anymore.

He built ISU with the idea that the players could do whatever they wanted offensively - i.e., they could play 'streetball'. That doesn't work with winning teams in the NBA, unless you have a Stephen Curry who can knock down 10 three-pointers per game with a hand in his face. Chicago certainly doesn't have that type of player.

and Butler are the biggest head cases that Hoiberg will have
to deal with. Rose does not want to play full-tilt on offense
and wants to protect his fragile body from injury. Butler has
the idea that he is best player on the Bulls and that Rose is

Butler is used to being ridden every second of the game by Tommy Thibs. They have different coaching styles. I couldn't stand Thibs constant yelling even when they were up 20 or down 20 and the game was out of reach. Butler seems like a player that responds to a more in your face style of coaching just going off his background story.

It would probably be in the best interest that Fred does well at Chicago and doesn't migrate back to ISU.

The NBA is such a joke. Who is Jimmy Butler anyway? It's not like he's
Tim Duncan, Steph Curry or Kevin Durant. A lot of the NBA is a bad joke

They are 1/2 game out of 2nd place in the east. Players are still having to adjust to Fred's philosophy and he's still learning about what motivates these players. Thibs was a great coach during the regular season and getting them in the playoffs, but he rode his players so hard they were dead when they got to the players. You can't play guys 40 minutes every game like Thibs would do. Fred understands there's time to push them and times when you have to ease up. I believe the Bulls will be a much tougher out in postseason with Hoiberg than they were with Thibs.

Butler is rightfully calling out Hoiberg for being too mellow. Wish he wouldn't have done it publicly but the cat's outta the bag. Hopefully Fred can coach these guys up.
