The old saying suggests, defense wins championships, and one of these two teams has improved in February or should we suggest both have improved?
  • Purdue and/or
  • Iowa

The Boilermakers are a good program, reaching #1 in the standings for the first time in program history, after a home win over Iowa earlier this B1G season!

Neither program has made a Final Four, since 1980, when Purdue defeated Iowa in the old consolation game back in the day! Louisville lead by Darrell Griffith beat UCLA in the Finals!

Purdue has the #1 adjusted offense according to Ken Pom, while Iowa is #5.
On the adjusted defense, Purdue is only #118. Iowa has moved to #88.

I know some fans wanted Illinois in this one the other day, but not a fan of the Illini Orange Crush in most circumstances.

Hopefully, Iowa can close out regular season strong, with three of final four games on the road.

I remember Dr. Tom getting a sweet road win in Champaign, back in the day. Fran also has accomplished a solid comeback road win there, as well. Hopefully, Iowa closes out 2022 regular season in grand fashion.

It was definitely nice to see Tony Perkins step up in Lincoln last night. With 20 points on the night Iowa claims #20 in the win column, On Iowa!
