Bye bye!

Ahhh, that's too bad ... Sorry, but Louisville has always smelled bad when it comes to basketball ... and now football, where the AD (Jurich) rehired Bobby Petrino ... even after saying this after Petrino's departure in 2008:
"Bobby went to areas where he thought he was strong recruiting and some of them panned out and some didn't. That's the nature of it. But listen, we had to clear out a lot of discipline issues. And our numbers suffered. We cleared 21 kids out of here, and that's a lot. That's a big hit for anybody to take, Eric. I don't know anyone that has. But we want to do things the right way."

Again, the same AD rehires Petrino ... the same one who got in a motorcycle accident with his 25 year-old girlfriend ... which led to his firing at Arkansas ... Jurich rehired because he felt he was a "changed man" ... oh, and because all of the suites are sold out on game day ...

I have no respect whatsoever for the University of Louisville ... in football ... or basketball ... Their coaches were/are dirty ... as was the AD ... Sadly, this type of behavior is accepted at many win-at-all cost schools ...

This is all amazing to watch, especially since it feels safe as a Fran and Iowa fan. I've browsed some Louisville forums and it's pretty crazy what their mindset seems to be on all of this. I see a lot of:

"If we go down at least we won't be the only one"
"Looking at the positive in all of this"
"Everybody's doing it, we just got caught"

It's like the whole fanbase has a morale compass the same as the coaches. And I don't think they have any idea the shit storm that is to follow. Gonna be so much fun to watch the ship go down.

I have no love for Pitino, and thought that his "no knowledge" act was getting old. I am pleased that he will be fired, and that there will be an asterisk next to his accomplishments when he is remembered in basketball history. I dislike people who have made such a career out of lying that they can do so with righteous indignation.

I have no sympathy for the Louisville athletic department, who made their deal with the devil and now have to live with the consequences.

But I do have some sympathy for the Louisville fanbase, who has no real way to control the program. We all want justice until we need mercy. I suspect you would see a lot of denial and bitterness on this message board if Iowa got caught.

Great comments. It's funny how the mob will abandon morality for something as trivial as a winning basketball team.

They had no problem w/ a lowlife coach when they were winning and not getting caught/punished! Don't feel sorry for them :)

One tinfoil hat knuckle head thought Kentucky was behind it because they hate each other so much.

5 star guard Anfernee Simmons and 4 star guard Courtney Ramey have decommitted from Louisville. Both 2018 commits.
