Don't need stats to tell me that McNamara is no longer a P4 QB.
Those days are 2 to 3 significant injuries and the lack of a roster loaded with talent & athleticism surrounding him long since past.

When we win big, we throw 10-20 passes. I think we threw 10 times at whisky for a measly 93 yards. Cade was 8-14 for 108 vs Washington. Just need to get A few good passes per game. Our QB has to be good at handing the ball off and ball protection.

I don't know where to start with respect to how simplistic this is.
Lester's goal was to cut offensive rankings in half; I was hoping he would cut the QB ranking in half, too.

..and yep, we’re back to seeing loaded 5-6 man attack mode run-stop defensive fronts.
And with McNamara in the pocket you can practically blitz the house with reckless abandon.
I do have some hope that Lester can install some new wrinkles to counteract what is coming but I have unlocked and restocked the liquor cabinet all the same.
That's not really fair. He's not good, but he's competing as best he can.
What did Washington do to try to stop us? Cade was QB, we seemed to do just fine. Point is our lines and defense need to step up.
Lets see them. He turns the ball over too much. And with his injury, its a moot point.

I hope they do. Still think we see loaded boxes where O-linemen have to take on multiple defenders at the LOS. VERY difficult to establish a run first plan when outnumbered and nobody expects the QB to read and run.
McNamara will have to complete passes and avoid sacks so Iowa can force them to adjust.
I prefer a QB who can run. But at least with Nate you had a guy built more like a dump truck (e.g. Ben Rothlisberger) who could take hits in the pocket and plow forward on the QB sneak. He was slow, but he offered more on O than what we've seen in the most recent designated starters.

that does not mean anything as CM gave Iowa the best chance to win. Plus CM runs sophisticated offense not that backyard football. We are all just missing the Ferentz QB genius strategy.
