That only means she was taking a Managerial Accounting class (one of my favorite Accounting classes I ever took I might add, but then again I’m a nerd).

I had plenty of Marketing and other business majors in my preliminary Accounting classes.

yep, that is what I said =)

Are there any signings coming up for Clark this year? Or is that typically an after-season thing? Would love to have a signed jersey hanging next to my Stanzi and Shaun Green jerseys

Very few commercials fall in the great catagory. Both of her state farm commercials seem to be on par with all of the other state farm commercials. I'm glad they didn't Insult our intelligence by having one of the other actors tell us who she is... I wonder how much of a cut the athletic dept gets for the uniform?

Story from ESPN:

Iowa star player Caitlin Clark signs NIL deal with Gatorade

National player of the year Caitlin Clark has signed with Gatorade, becoming the fourth collegiate athlete and second women's basketball player to join its roster.

The deal marks the expanding name, image and likeness portfolio for the Iowa point guard, who has taken the sport by storm since her freshman year but catapulted to national fame this spring when she led the Hawkeyes to their first national title game.

Her other NIL partnerships include State Farm, Nike and Hy-Vee, among others, and she recently signed with Excel Sports Management, whose women's basketball clients include WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Arike Ogunbowale.

"I am fortunate to be part of the first generation of collegiate athletes who are not only able to contribute to the legacy of our colleges and universities, but also start to build something of our own off the court," Clark told ESPN. "Working with a brand like Gatorade is really a dream come true, but NIL is about more than just endorsements and partnerships. Athletes are learning about entire industries, how they work, and how we might be able to pursue other passions while we are playing and after our playing careers are over."

To launch the Gatorade deal, Clark appears in a new video titled "You Can Too" aiming to inspire the next generation of basketball players, and the company will donate $22,000 (a reference to Clark's jersey number) to the Caitlin Clark Foundation.

"At Gatorade, we take pride in our elite athlete roster and have had the privilege of fueling some of the greatest athletes of all time," global head of sports marketing at Gatorade Jeff Kearney said in a statement. "We're thrilled to be a part of Caitlin's journey to greatness early in her career and look forward to building upon the incredible impact she's already made."

"Gatorade fuels some of the greatest athletes in sport, as well as ones I have looked up to growing up, so it's a dream come true joining the Gatorade Family," Clark added. "Gatorade also shares my competitive mindset of wanting to be the best, and that commitment to excellence extends beyond the court, too. We share similar values in terms of wanting to lead and inspire the next generation, so I'm excited to leverage our collective platforms to make an impact."

Gatorade's other collegiate athlete signees are UConn guard Paige Bueckers (the 2021 women's basketball national player of the year), Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Penn State running back Nick Singleton.

As a senior with the Hawkeyes, who graduated two starters from last year's squad, Clark has guided the team to a 10-1 record and No. 4 ranking in the Associated Press poll while averaging 29.5 points, 7.4 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game. Iowa's sole loss came to current No. 12 Kansas State.

Clark, a native Iowan from West Des Moines, is projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, should she leave Iowa; she has a fifth season of collegiate eligibility she may use due to the COVID year.

"One of the biggest things for us this year was understanding that we have a different team and don't have to be exactly who we were last season," Clark said. "We're settling into that and are focused on not getting ahead of ourselves. Coach tells us to be where our feet are, and that means staying present in the moment, whether it be winning the drill, winning practice or winning games."

what do you guys think this all adds up to on an annual basis?

I would guess around $2,000,000.
I’d be surprised if it totaled that much. I’ve mentioned this before but in 2016/2017 my roommate dated a pretty popular YouTube personality. I’d see him trending at times nationally. He would make ~$40k for a featured spot with a major brand (comparable to her Bose ad, I’d say, but longer since it’s YT). Account for inflation, let’s say that’s worth $50k today. It would take 40 such spots for him to make $2 mil.

Im not sure she would command that much per spot / campaign when she is not a pro/olympic athlete. With the Gatorade deal, I wouldn’t be shocked if she is approaching $1 mil in total income…but some of these deals occurred before CY 2023 anyway. In any case, I’m sure she has a healthy six figure sum in the bank.

"pretty popular Youtube personality" does not equal generational player who is a meteoric force in shaping the future of their sport.

Based on those sponsors and her exposure, it should be at least 5m. Far far more than any other women’s basketball player. But she signed early and may not have had the best management. I am sure Hy Vee is getting its money’s worth.

Also, it’s a bit of a paradox. She doesn’t have the social media following of an Angel Reece who blew up after taunting Clark. But her TV exposure and attendance exposure are light years ahead of Reece. There are a shitload of 8 tickets to the Jacksonville at LSU game still available.

i think whatever Nike does with the shoe will be huge as well. They need to hit a home run and already have interesting templates with the Kobe shoes.

The full text of the tweet:

Caitlin Clark is the ONE athlete in college sports this season, regardless of sport, who is MUST see in person. There are plenty of teams who fans want to see, but Caitlin Clark is the ONE college athlete fans covet for autographs/photos no matter where Iowa women's basketball plays. No other athlete in 2023-24 is in that much demand.

The woman that hugged Clark on the court, was she one of Coach Stringer's relatives that accompanied her? That corner was where they were seated during the game I think. Maybe a daughter?
