I watched him a few times this year and really wasn't impressed. He was OK at a lot of things but nothing he does stands out.

Miami must be subcontracting the Cubs front office for this type of deal. This was their year and they could not make the ACC championship game with a better QB and better surrounding team. Major waste of money.

Mario couldn’t win the ACC if you gave him the 2013 FSU team, in 2013. You could give him the best team in any given year and 19 times out of 20 he won’t win anything. He is a high level recruiter and a mediocre coach.

This is actually a good thing for college football. Personally, I don’t believe Carson Beck is worth $4 million, but what this does is keep a lot of kids in college an extra year who otherwise would have jumped to the NFL. A second or third round pick will get usually a 3-4 year deal between 6-9 million. Carson Beck was projected to go anywhere between the second and third round, which means he might be lucky to earn $2 million/year. By staying in college, Beck has doubled his likely earnings.
