Jack Wagner and Carter Happel shortened their list this weekend on Takedown Radio. You can also listen to Alex Marinelli on why he is wrestling in Night of Conflict.

0:14 – Jack Wagner- Two-time Iowa High School State Champion
0:46 – Alex Marinelli- Three-time Ohio High School State Champion
0:59 – Carter Happel- Three-time Iowa High School State Champion

I don't think Wagner gets enough credit. I've watched him wrestle numerous times and he's a go getter. Definitely a solid pick up for the Hawks if Lee isn't coming around.

AZchief you know Stroker is in his ear. Good kid to have in room just to recruit kids from IA and PA with his background. Time will tell and hopefully we'll see commitments at Night of Conflict. ;)

I'm thinking that as well...plus, Minne needs lightweights. I really don't think a year or two is going to make a difference with Iowa because I do think after Gilman, Clark et. al. graduate, its going to be a rebuilding year much like Minne is in now. Sure would be tough to turn down in state talent like Wagner though.

I don't think we'll be in as rough of shape as Minne when this years JR class graduates.

Potential 2017-2018 starters - no potential True FR included other than 125/133
125 ?? - Mejia/Renteria/Lee True FR?
133 ?? - Mejia/Renteria/Lee True FR?
141 Happel/Turk FR/SO
149 Sorensen SR
157 Kemerer SO
165 Marinelli FR
174 Paddock/Young JR/FR
184 Wilcke SO
197 Holloway SO
285 Stoll/Bradley JR/SO?

Even if we decided to take a hit at 125/133 for a year while our studs redshirt, 141-165 will be really tough for us, Paddock could surprise and Young has a lot of upside I think. Will be interesting to see how good Stoll is up to that point.

Iowa also have Woodard, both Ryan's, and Glynn to talk to him

minny is fine with light weights. Lizak will be much better this year. Bremer or Brancale will take over at 133 and thorn will come in at 141. They also have Marko and McKee coming in soon.

Come on Chief...Iowa won't be taking a hit like MN this year anytime in the near future. I'm actually shocked at the lineup they are throwing out there this year.

We are going to have a lot of young guys...except for Sorensen. We will be losing four sure-fire AA's (and hopefully a few champs)...add in the loss of Burak. A lot of ??? in that line up. Hence the rebuilding. If the true freshman like Marinelli or Kemmerer can help us get a title in the next year or two, I say put them in there and redshirt them in 2017-2018 and let the other guys catch up ala Penn State. Like it or not, Cael's plan for last year worked out pretty good for him.

Losing Clark, Gilman, Brooks, and Meyer is gonna leave a mark, even worse than last year's class of Seniors, any way we split it or spin it. I love the guys coming in and have faith in TnT but some need a lot more developing than others.

This is all predicated on us not picking up a Hall, Lee or a Breske. While it may not be as ugly as Minne this year, I think it would behoove us to lower expectations.

That sounds pretty intelligent to lower expectations even though the recruiting isn't done and we haven't seen the current freshman in action

Jeesh Lenox rough Labor Day? Losing Clark, Gilman, Brooks and Alex will definitely hurt big time. I'm excited for the young bucks to step up in the future.

This is Iowa wrestling. My expectations as well as the Iowa coaches is to reload and win titles. It is an insult to the program to suggest we should lower expectations. I am sure Gable and Brands would not take kindly to such a suggestion.
Edit: At least wait and see some of the young bucs in action before making such a claim

Losing five AA's (potentially in Brooks and Meyer) in two years and depending on largely freshman/sophomore's against teams that have highly ranked recruits who are seasoned like Okie State, PSU, tOSU, Minnesota, Michigan? Welp, hope you're right and they sign Breske, Hall, Lee, Happel and quick.

Love the look of that Lenox! Lee is crucial.....duh.

Beske is interesting because I haven't heard anything in his recruiting.
