Got to wonder if some voters blackballed McCaffery for the Joe Smoldt stuff a couple years ago.

If there's no clear-cut way to determine one recipient, why not name co-winners? Or would flipping a coin be better?

Basketball team got off of Twitter. According to Garza. Probably a smart move, a lot of idiots out there tweeting at them.
I had a feeling Hilmer would win. Knowing the pool of voters there is a tremendous amount of butthurt towards Fran.
The IHSAA has nothing to do with this. There were 49 voters, combination of sports writers and coaches across the state. It ended with 23 votes for Carton, 23 for Hilmer. Given the amount of support for both in the room, it was decided to make it co-Mr. Basketball. It isn't unprecedented. Happened two other times.
I’ll start by saying I’ve never tweeted at a player and I won’t. However, Connor was on twitter telling a Wisconsin player he was trash right after they got beat in IC. The good news is they really proved it with their showing at the Kohl center.....
There are some lowlifes out there. I’ve followed and retweeted what the athletes say. People going on and bashing/cussing out student athletes is just wrong.
I heard a former football player support KF ban. Said it would not of ended well if they had access to twitter during the season.
Maybe Fran should follow KF and ban his players during their 4/5 years.
Well if the team wants to shut people up show up this week and next. As tired as I am of all things Fran this team has the ability to rally around each other and prove doubters wrong. I am not asking for a Sweet 16 run. Win tonight, compete tomorrow and see what happens. Get to the tournament next week and make some noise. If they aren't capable of getting up for the next two weeks and playing with some intensity then it's on them.
If Mr Basketball is truly given to the best player. How can anyone say Hilmer is better than Carton. I'm sure Hilmer could hold his own at higher level but no one he puts as good of #s if he played in 4A. Plenty of other guys I'd take over him to win it such as Carton, McCaffery, Noah Carter from Dbq Senior, Logan Wolf from CF etc.
