Cass in the Finals?

If Steveson has signed a professional contract then he won't be returning to college...opening the way for Tony to advance to the finals.

The NCAA will allow Stevenson to both wrestle and compete professionally in the WWE. At least in the theory this could be done. As a pragmatic matter, you are correct. It seems highly unlikely Stevenson would choose to compete in both activities.

Intercollegiate wrestling is not the same athletic activity as WWE, thus allowed by current NCAA policy. We will see?

It isn’t against the rules but it’s totally impractical to go to college and wrestle while also being in the WWE. There aren’t enough days in the week to pull that off, nevermind the toll it would take on the human body. Plus the “nutritional requirements” of a WWE physique will not fly with the NCAA.

he could train with lesner and other pros from minny.delay competing (touring until) march, but i would bet he is done.

Steveson will be wrestling for Minnesota and will be competing at the NCAAs... the thread is moronic.. All Steveson has done thus far is sign a contract with the WWE. They can pay him now to lock him in for the future if they want. He can do promos and perhaps some one off events, but he will wrestle at Minnesota this season, but probably not every dual meet.

This thread started before any of that was known or understood. It’s easy to be right after the fact.

You do realize this thread was started on Sept. 4th right? Your commentary comes after everyone knows what the plan is, except maybe you. There is a taped interview on this very site where he lays out what he's doing.

Yup…everybody thought he was done. Especially after declining to go to worlds.

No, you're wrong. The assumption that Steveson was done wrestling in college was indeed moronic... And, everyone DID NOT assume he was done...
He signed with WWE, and we know this is now allowed, so it did not mean he could not, or would not compete for Minnesota. Some of us knew he was still going to compete for Minnesota... The assumption that his declining to compete at the World Championships and signing a WWE contract automatically meant he was not competing anymore was indeed moronic. I stand by my comment, despite the timing of it...

You might want to head down to Home Depot and get yourself a new shovel. The one you have is getting worn out digging that hole deeper and deeper.........

My original point was, it was stupid to automatically conclude Steveson was done competing since he declined the 2021 World's and then signed a WWE contract.
Sure his being done was not out of the realm of possibility, and it would look like it was leaning that way, but posting as if it was definitive was moronic. For the record, I did know he would return to Minnesota to wrestle (I also knew he would not go to the World's based on the deadline on declaring intentions for all USA Olympic Medalists). And, even if people were unsure about his return, concluding he was done and posting Cass now has an easier path to the finals (only Pariss in his way?) was putting the cart before the horse.
