I think she was only 7 points shy of 2000 coming into this game. Should have left her in here and there in the previous few games so that she would have broken the record instead of tying it. Perhaps Iowa didn't expect the Northern Iowa game would be a bit of a challenge.

I remember Gustafson also tied an NCAA record instead of breaking it in her last game vs. Baylor.

Edit: it's the season double double record. Gustafson was 1 rebound shy in the Baylor game to break the NCAA record of 33.
