Why are they there and do you actually eat them?
You are supposed to use the carrots and celery as chopsticks to pick up the wings, so you don't get sauce all over your fingers. It's amazing how many people do not know this. Why are they there and do you actually eat them?
That's what I was told. The celery etc helps to reduce the burn from eating the wings.I eat them to help cool the pallet after the hot wings.
Every other time I just throw them away.
The dressing does. The celery is just a delivery device. That's what I was told. The celery etc helps to reduce the burn from eating the wings.
Now whether that's true or not...............
The first wings were served in Buffalo at The Anchor Bar in the 60's. The woman that owned it served a group fried wings with hot sauce, bleu cheese, and celery because that's all she had on hand.
I eat the celery with wings.
That sounds like a Lute post, that's all I've
got in reply.
Wings used to be the throw-away part of a chicken for most restaurants. In the early '70s, KFC would occasionally have a sale when they would get rid of their wings for a dime apiece. The bar I frequented in Cedar Rapids in the mid-'70s was next door to a Chinese restaurant and had a deal with the restaurant to take its wings, because people who ate in restaurants didn't want them. The bar would fry them and give them away during happy hour with dipping sauce. Not blue cheese, though. The first wings were served in Buffalo at The Anchor Bar in the 60's. I went to the Anchor Bar and it was one of the most disappointing food experiences ever. Sometimes the original is not the best, or even very good for that matter.
Does the Longbranch in CR still do all-you-can-keep-down wings on Thursdays? Ten, or so, years ago it was $3. They were good, too.
Anyway, I eat the carrots and the celery and probably more bleu cheese, by weight, than wings.
In this economy?!They do and it's still $3.
In this economy?!
I'd sit and drink through karaoke for that kind of steal.
Celery & carrots go well with ranch dressing, as do wings. Duh.Why are they there and do you actually eat them?
While it's not a WOB, this still made me chuckle a little.I eat them to help cool the pallet after the hot wings.
For those who have trouble with this, the one that refers to the mouth ends in "ate" so as long as you remember it has something to do with what you ate, you'll get it right. While it's not a WOB, this still made me chuckle a little.

Remember when this guy was fairly normal?
