Championship Week is the best week in all of sports. Even better than the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

I said what I said.

There's all kinds of games all night Monday, then all day - every day - Tuesday through Saturday and all afternoon on Sunday.

So many teams fighting for those so few bids left, that aren't already locked up. It just doesn't get any better. Or even the locked up seeds, fighting to improve said seeding and pod & regional-placement opportunities.

Championship Week is MY Super Bowl.

BYU putting up some fight, but pulling an Iowa. IE, missing critical FTs.

Just can't seem to get it to 10 or under. SMC usually has an answer.

SMC lead down to 8, whittled down from a 26-pt lead, after making all 3 FTs from getting fouled on a 3PA.

4:46 left.

BYU press giving the Gaels all kinds of serious fits.

Got us a game, folks.

BYU ran out of time and luck.

But so dumb. Kept wasting time by dribbling around, and kept trying to drive it when needing 3s.

Been watching a few different conference tourneys in the last couple days/nights ... and going by what I've seen, if I were a betting man, the BTT will be using the Wilson EVO ball too.

(unless ALL Wilson balls are a real bright orange color, then my bad and nvm)

BTT predictions;

Wednesday:
Ohio St vs Wisconsin - Badgers (but hopefully the Buckeyes)
Minnesota vs Nebraska - Huskers

Thurday:
Rutgers vs Michigan - Wolverines
OSU/UW winner vs Iowa - Hawkeyes
Penn St vs Illinois - Illini
Nebraska vs Maryland - Huskers [MD not horrible in neutral games, but NEB riding a wave]

Friday:
RU/UM winner vs Purdue - Boilermakers
Iowa vs Michigan St - Hawkeyes [by barest of margins]
Illinois vs Northwestern - Wildcats
Nebraska vs Indiana - Hoosiers

Saturday:
IA/MSU winner vs Purdue - Boilermakers
Indiana vs Northwestern - Wildcats

Sunday:
Northwestern vs Purdue - Wildcats

I look for either Penn State or Northwestern to make a run. You got to love senior point guards with their skills. I've got a feeling Purdue doesn't close the deal for a similar reason.

Last years run in the Big 10 tournament was awesome. Four days in a row of Hawkeye basketball, and finishing it with a win. I'll take that over 2 wins in the NCAA tournament anytime. I just love watching the games.
Completely understand, but respectfully disagree. I'd take a one and done in the conference tourney for two wins in the NCAA any day of the week.

OSU and Minny are playing better along with Nebby.
I expect upsets from those teams.

Now I find myself watching these smaller league games with an eye towards potential transfers that could help the HAWKS next year.
Not happy with this mentality but that is the landscape.

So would 99.99% of knowledgeable college basketball fans.

If Iowa would have lost the first game of the BTT but made the second weekend of the NCAA, the op would have exactly the opposite view. It's just another painfully stupid Iowa fan cope.

Ohio state shooting exceptionally well. Sort of like Nebraska the other day. Who knows what OSU team will show up vs Iowa but today's Buckeyes would beat Iowa. . Wisky probably not coming back, which would probably put Gard on precursor to the hot seat.

He’s won Big titles in 2022 and 2020, I don’t think his seat is anywhere near hot yet. I’d like to see him have several more years like this before that happens. Such an ugly style of play, I don’t know why anyone would want to play there. Maybe we can start beating them out for recruits again.

I saw that Wis AD fired their hockey coach today.
He fired Christ.
He may want a clean sweep of Alvarez coaches.

I really did not want to play OSU in the BTT.
Too athletic - bad matchup.
Gotta gut it out,Hawkeyes!
Not only that, but the Buckeyes are the worst and most dangerous kind of opponent to face in a conference tourney quarterfinal.

One that has nothing to lose tomorrow and everything to gain. They can come out loose and play hard. Whatever happens, happens.

I mean.... Iowa doesn't have much more to lose... They are comfortably IN the NCAA. If OSU wants in the NCAA they HAVE to win.

Hopefully we can run OSU and tired legs show up. But young athletes probably will be fine until game 3 in 3 days. Especially if OSU blows out Wisconsin and they limit minutes

But that's my point.

Iowa is playing for the chance to improve their NCAA position. So while they might not have much to lose - aside from seeding lines - they do have more reason to play 'tight' tomorrow.

OSU either keeps winning (5-in-5 needed, which makes it very unlikely they'll have enough gas to finish it off) or they're done. Its either all or nothing, for them.

That's all jmo.

True. Hopefully Hawks have one of their good games. Mediocre isn't going to do it... With the way OSU playing.

Wisconsin...
0/9 from 3
9/32 from the field.

22 points with 15 min left in the game.

Ugly, ugly, ugly

except Wisconsin fan's have Bo Ryan expectations. This year + next year (I assume they'll still suck) and then
he's on hot seat. Now he's merely dealing with grumbling fans.

They have mastered the calls against Iowa. Really need osu to pull this out. It should be illegal for Wisconsin to play the way they do. Not a lick of talent.

Except for maybe hepburn, which just did a dramatic flop on a screen for a foul on OSU. It's pure garbage that is taught & practiced.
I still cannot believe we lost to this crappy badgers team twice
