Chris Christie endorses Trump

That's gonna give Reince Priebus a headache.

This is big for Trump for a few reasons. Every single news station carried the conference and now they are talking about it. Let's face it, Christie's talking points against Rubio are effective. The gloves are officially off folks. Trump has an energized base and Rubio and Cruz are obviously establishment guys.

More importantly, no one is talking about Rubio or Cruz. Trump is again sucking all the oxygen out of the room.

Watch for a large, "anonymous" donation to the Chris Christie Reelection Campaign.

Pretty big pick up for Trump. Now he can let Christie be the pitbull that keeps attacking Rubio and Cruz. They are probably just hanging out writing up comedy central roast style one liners for the next debate.

I want to know when we are going to see more Palin.

I am actually surprised she is not coming to some of these southern states like Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, or Alabama. Never know, I guess we could still see her. They kept the Christie thing a pretty good secret.

I still partially blame a lack of media scrutiny for Bush Jr's rush into Iraq and an unnecessary war. With a few notable exceptions like Newsweek, the press repeated the Bush propaganda without scrutiny or question.

Now I wonder if all the free publicity and lack of aggressive vetting by the nation's press will do even more damage to the country. How a clown like Trump can actually be a leading candidate is offensive to intelligent people everywhere. (But Cruz still sucks too.)

Whoa.....there's a source in Washington saying Obama is behind this. They were supposedly threatening Christie with prosecuting Bridgegate if he didn't endorse the Donald. It's hard to believe that's accurate, it's just what I read on a fairly decent blog, but that's really mind-blowing.

If that were true, what would that say about who the Democrats want as the Republican nominee?

If you believe that you're dumber than I give you credit for.

I agree. Last night Trump couldn't answer the healthcare question. The media today is talking about makeup jokes.

Looks like someone made a deal with the Donald to be his VP.

Ding! Ding!

That's actually a pretty tough ticket to run against. I never would have thought we had enough stupid in this country to make Trump s contender, but knowing now that we do, adding Trump would be a good move.

JFC, Trump is going to be the GOP's nominee. What a crazy time.

Don't blame the media. They are just a reflection of what the mouth-breathers are hungry to consume.
I'm of two minds about that. One one hand I agree the media is a money making corporation that is serving a product the masses want. On the other hand journalism is supposed to be a profession with duties and responsibilities to serve the public the information is needs to to perform our civic function in a representative democratic republic. In that light I can't let the media off the hook.

True "journalists" are going the way of the dodo bird. Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Morrow are not walking through that door.

Plenty of blame to go around on that. How about a complete lack scrutiny by members of Congress? They were all scared of being called "soft on terrorism."

It was one of the most frustrating and infuriating times of my life. Several things were clear: 1) The stupidity of invading Iraq for something they obviously had nothing to do with, 2)Cheney's desire to enrich himself and his war industry buddies and 3) Bush Jr's desire to show his dad that he was a better "war president". Just the unending and relentless stupidity.

This was obviously in the works for awhile. Trump was waiting for a day he needed to recapture media attention and he sprung this at the perfect time. The media coverage this morning was all Rubio, then Trump sprung the endorsement and he got an hour of media coverage for free.
There is a thought that Christie could be on the ticket, but I don't think so. Remember, Trump pointed out the Bridgegate issue during the campaign. It will involve a trial over the Summer or in the Fall. That won't go well. This is more about Christie hating Rubio. If the dust settles on Christie then there may be a spot for Christie somewhere in a Trump Justice Department.

If that is the standard, maybe Hillary could sign on as a junior deputy or something.

MSNBC and NPR have both been playing clips of Trump and Christie ripping on each other during the campaign, including the one where Trump went after Christie for saying he had no idea there were people in his office committing dirty political tricks.

I said if the dust settled, meaning if Christie doesn't take too many hits during the Bridgegate trials. He has compartmentalized pretty well. So, if he keeps being a loyal foot soldier for Trump I can see him putting a former federal prosecutor like Christie in the Justice Department. What other job would Trump give him? Homeland Security?
