The sad thing is that I truly believe that if he had gone Iowa, he wouldn't have gone down that road. That's not to say that former Iowa players are saints ... but, on average, the impact that guys like Doyle and Ferentz have on the players tends to be exceedingly positive.

Hard to say with any real conclusion. Like one speaker I heard say, "Football and concussions didn't make Aaron Hernandez a thug, he stepped onto the Florida campus as one".

I don't think that is what his brother would have said. The bigger part simply related to hanging around with the "wrong crowd." In addition to that, it always sounded like Hernandez cared too much about what others thought. Thus, that made it too easy for others to manipulate him.

Maybe not what his brother would have said, but ask students and other players at UF...

Idiotic comment, post and thought process. It must be nice to live in a world like yours where the all mighty Iowa football program changes pedophile thinking.

Not at all, you simply don't understand people. It's all about getting attention. Leak was in an environment where he was the big man on campus ... he likely felt entitled to get whatever attention he wanted. Now he's a has-been ... but still has that entitled attitude. Also, while I used Iowa as an example ... but there are plenty of programs where a lot of emphasis is put on earning everything you get ... about giving back to others around you. That sort of emphasis likely could have changed Leak's life ... be it at Iowa or some other program. Instead, he went to "just win U."

I don’t understand people. Lol. Enlighten me Sigmund Freud. Tim Tebow went there with same coach, so quit being that anti personal responsibility guy. Attention is what you seek here with moronic comments about what would have and wouldn’t have influence this pervert. I have some news for you. Sexual Predators are sexual predators despite what college they go to. We’ve had them here at Iowa.

You're basing your perspective on ancient psychological thought. Also, Freudian thought itself is antiquated ... so it would be foolish for me to promote such thinking.

The fact of the matter is that you have to consider more of a systems perspective on psychology. Who says I'm an "anti-personal responsibility" guy. Rather, I'm a scientist ... so I'm not going to advocate the sort of unscientific thought process you're advocating. Please try to apply critical thought rather than dogma ... then you'll be on a clearer path to understanding the rest of the human populace around you.

Suppose you lock a baby into a steel box with no windows and no means of external interaction. Suppose that the only interaction you have with the baby is through passing food to the baby that simply keeps it alive. Are you going to be pissed when the baby doesn't know how to speak, walk, or even think anything beyond rudimentary thoughts? Why wouldn't you be if you expect the baby to take personal responsibility for itself? This rather extreme example epitomizes the fault in your current logic.
